Hahahaha! Did you have to do anything to get your card, like specifically request it?

(I still haven't tried to use my card or flown a flight that I can credit to them yet... soon though!)

I have had absolutely no luck changing the communication language from Portuguese to English. I've sent five emails since January asking them to do it for me as it's not possible to change yourself. Finally I got a reply:

"In response to your request, we inform you that we are working to improve our tools and mellhorar their experience in it, however, we can not meet your demand".

Looks like I'll be sticking with the Copa match.
 
I'm having great difficulty stopping SQ check in agents adding my Avianca Brazil number to my booking when I show the card at checkin for SQ flights. The "My Flights" app notifies me of the change, so then I go to the lounge and ask them to switch back to my KF account for earning.
What are others doing when flying SQ with Avianca Brazil membership, wanting to earn to KF? I think I'll stop showing the card, except at the lounge.
 
I have to ask at the lounge change to Sq a few times but that was with Thai.
 
Oh, joy! My card and bag tags arrived today :)... with three months to go . It was posted from Brazil on 29 November, and I have no idea what triggered the send. I was approved Diamond in early November 2015 so I guess the extension to March 2017 is appreciated.
 
Oooh maybe there's hope...

They agreed on three separate occasions to send me my card months ago (both via phone and email), and I still never got anything. Maybe it's a Christmas surprise? ;)

Finally, my Diamond card has arrived, more 1 year after they have status matched me. However, my Diamond card will only be valid until March this year. Hopefully they will send me the Gold Card soon.

Quite funny.

Doubt I will be able to leverage it at this stage.
But have requalified for Star Gold, through TK Elite, for another two years, so all is well on that score. :)
 
Hi All. Bumping this thread. Wondering if a soft landing ( to *A silver) or hard landing to base tier can be expected - (I haven't been able to credit) so I expect "hard". Any experience or ideas?

I have good news on this front.

It is indeed a soft landing.

Even better, if you are currently Diamond you will drop to Amigo Gold which is also Star Gold. I have had this confirmed by email from Avianca.

As ridiculous as it sounds, I can't find my status anywhere on the logged in page!

Avianca's website is atrocious. The advice from Avianca is:

To print your temporary card through our website, click on Login and enter your data and password to access. Then click "Hi, Danger" located in the top right field of the screen, then select the "Meus Pontos" option and in the menu on the left of the screen click "Imprimir Cartão". The image of your card will appear next to it and you can print it by selecting the "Print Card" option to print it.​

Of course, that also doesn't work at the moment because:

Regarding the time that our portal takes to load the data, we inform that recently this one has been modified and we are still working so that it works in the best possible way.​

I've had nothing but difficulty with Avianca since the status match, lead by the fact I only receive communications from them in Portuguese. When I contacted them about it on 18 January 2016 and asked them to do what should be the simplest thing and change the language to English, I finally got a response on 30 August (seven months later) I was told it can't be done!

In response to your request, we inform you that we are working to improve our tools and mellhorar their experience in it, however, we can not meet your demand.​

At that point I made the decision to concentrate on Copa, believing I'd get a soft landing there. But that didn't happen so I'm stuck with Avianca.

I have a South African flight coming up next month and SA's reservation department can't add my FF number. The system says it's an invalid number. Very frustrating.

Hopefully, they will send the Gold card automatically....only used the card twice in the last 12 months to access the Austrian lounge in Vie and the Croatian lounge in Dbv....got quizzical looks each time but was accepted due to the Star Alliance logo on rhe card. :)
 
I love using this card. Getting puzzled looks in Australian, Asian and European lounges. Seems no one heard about this airline and most had to ask their supervisor for the code although it's on the card (O6).

For the sign up I had to resort to send them all my details and ask them create a new profile for me. They have , unfortunately, entered the first part of my surname as my middle name in the profile (even though in the email I had very clearly identified all the required fields including my complete surname). Anyway, I don't seem to be able to add my Avianca FF number to itineraries (the request gets rejected because the pax name does not match the FF name). I have sent them an email but I am not sure how long I'll have to wait to hear back.
