1/ Fully vaccinated people can still be infected. So every case found allows the contact tracing teams to focus their efforts on finding all the branches of any transmission chain.

2/ Plus it would seem that the fully vaccinated can still be capable of infecting another person.

Yes, we are all well aware of this. You’re ignoring the fact that vaccination significantly reduces the risk of the person being infected. We need to stop thinking in terms of “covid zero”. It’s about managing risk.

...and presumably that ability to home visit will not be tied to individual vaccination because it will be completely unenforceable otherwise.
Well today its leaked that Service NSW registration of single bubble is required - maybe they will expand to vaccinated registration of households or something like that.....

Registration of bubbles will prove an admin nightmare. They will need processes for people who fall out with bubble mate and want to register a new bubble mate, etc. Talk about 1984 and Big Brother!

From my interpretation of the comments of the NSW Premier (who will probably having a day off as per usual today - welcome NSW Health Minister) this week, its likely you will be able to visit your daughter's household if you happen to live in an LGA/LHD with a high level of vaccination. Just put aside the societal impacts of bringing more tiers to this lockdown.
Actually completely forgot........may be the NSW premier will turn up today to make the announcement of the revised single bubble etc....

I wonder if any of the journos will be game to ask Gladys who she is registering as her bubble mate given her well-known issues with previous partner Daryl Maguire?

She is turning up...but Dr Chant is still MIA.
Have you seen pics????

Maybe the NSW CHO is locked away trying to find low risk activity that are suitable at 50% vaccination that will have minimal impact on case numbers....probably need to find 5 things.

Today's guest list is Gladys, police minister, police commissioner and Dr McAnulty. Hazzard possibly not being trusted with another Saturday after last week.

I think you know its because its more a case that NSW police were responsible for today's revisions......NSW Health Minister needs a day off anyway, I can't recall his last day off.

I'm going to laugh my head off if NSW Police don't allow people in LGAs of concern that qualify for single bubble to have intimate visits (ie they have to nominate their intimate partner), but allow intimate partner visits for other people in other types households in LGAs of concern...........I hope people understand the meaning of my horribly worded post.

Let’s keep it in perspective

- who was in palliative care
- pre-existing conditions
- unvaccinated but eligible

NSW Police Commissioner says new rules and fines will be enforced from today

The Police Commissioner is calling it, Operation Stay At Home.
He says he is no apologetic about the strict restrictions and the strict enforcement.
"Please don't write in and complain to me, we have given ample warnings and cautions, and that time has gone," he said.
"There are 1400 men and women in the New South Wales Highway Patrol who now will be dedicated to COVID compliance duties on our roads."

NSW Police requested clamp down on outdoor recreation

The Premier says the police wanted the stricter rules on people being outdoors.
She said there was not any strong evidence about outdoor transmission, but the police wanted tighter restrictions as it was an "operational issue".
"So while there is no strong evidence about outdoor transmission, operationally we have said to the police what do you need to do, what do you need to ensure greater compliance and that is one of the things on their list," she said
And on the increased restrictions:

Five kilometre rule is in place for Greater Sydney, including the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Wollongong and Shellharbour

Stronger police presence in NSW to 'clamp down on people doing the wrong thing'

Gladys Berejiklian is outlining the new powers the police will have as well as the tighter restrictions and new penalties.
She said there will be a visable presence of police in affected LGAs
There will be an additional 500 ADF on the ground, joining the 300 already in NSW.
People in Greater Sydney now need a permit to go into regional NSW. The permit will come into effect next Saturday, but police will be monitoring the roads this week to m ake sure people are heading into the regions for permitted reasons.
On the spot fines for breaches will now be $5,000 as well as lying on a permit.
You must register your single bubble buddy, who must live within 5km of you.
The word "recreation" is no longer a reason to leave your home. It must be genuine exercise.

Heckler playing music and I think he yelled ‘Nuremberg 2.0’.

You’d think they would have cops everywhere at these press events.

Could see someone being dragged away in the back

Victorian government in what some Victorians have labelled a "real" lockdown can't contain spread across Melbourne. Reality is here folks - what a shame public health officials didn't crow ad-nauseum about this since February.

GET. VACCINATED. NOW.
