Australian airlines fare poorly in global ranking of frequent flyer programs

This highlights, unfortunately, why any delay/cancellation scheme needs to be primarily about communication than compensation.

The passengers had no idea what to do or how to enforce their rights when they were standing at the airport.

Their contract of carriage was with United - which they didn’t know, and were unable to enforce.

Buying walk-up tickets on the spot? Shouldn’t have been necessary.

Buying walk-up tickets because they might lose one night’s accommodation in Rome? Did they contact their insurance company?

They have rights under the Montreal Convention and their contract of carriage, but no one told them.

So maybe the government has a point here.

... suggests its a very NA focused viewpoint and Aeroplan on AC or UA is dynamic pricing.

Reading the report, that pretty much sums it up. AFF's own rankings probably a better resource for Australian usage.

Ah i think i get QF rating here. They scored 1/4 for redemption rate but 3/4 for availability. That would indicate they're looking predominantly at CR+'s availability. We on AFF would be expecting the opposite rating.

But the US airlines score better overall and have terrible availability on many routes - unless you wait until 2 wks out. Dynamic pricing every otherwise.

These things tend to be US / Euro centric.

I’m scratching my head why FB topped the list! 🤷‍♂️

I always see pretty good availability on AA tbh and often on routes served and operated by Qantas but not available on QF unless you pay with half a million points or something else ridiculous . I can also understand why it would.be US and Euro centric. I miss certainly the coming and goings within and further afield from Europe. Some of the routes and points needed to fly were just stunning and available! 😕

Yes, as I said AA (and UA, DL) will release a lot of seats 2 to 3 wks out (a huge amount) but not 330 days out.
