i agree with you albatross710, I think (and hope) it is limited to financial charges and the like.
Still as cc providers exclude such things from points (as well as many other cash equivalent transactions), I thought it would be great if some one who paid on a non-AMEX could confirm that they got the reward points.
OZ_mark, I enclose an extract from the Macquaire CC terms and conditions. The Macquaire was noteworthy because it does not give points on GST (its only one I am aware off), but the other terms are commonplace in cc agreements.
Points are not earned in respect of the following amounts that may be charged to your Account:
• GST and government charges
• Interest and other bank fees and charges (including any GST payable on any of these)
• Cash Advances
• Special Promotions such as balance transfers, and
• Transactions made in operating a business.
If a Transaction is reversed, we will deduct the points earned on that Transaction.
