Yep but no ATO points (except on a few old cards with QFF selected for some unknown reason).

I wonder if that unknown reason is a deal/contract with Qantas that cant be changed on existing cobranded cards, might explan why there has been no change to the Westpac KF card regarding ATO payments.

Received the missive yesterday from Macquarie Bank for Woolies card. No indication of removal for ATO payments I could see except for the generic "at any time".

Same here, noting the annual fee goes from $89 to $139 with the additional benefit of... Nothing. Now reconsidering this card's value as I can get QF direct sweep on a Citi Signature fee free for life + $49. No ATO though (or YMMV)...

I'll reconsider this card too, unless another waiver is forthcoming. Is the recent black ANZ CBR friendly, although it may only be in my armoury until the due date.

At at this rate of card disposal, I'm likely to run out of cc. :(

Must check my renewal date then. I think I've only just paid it. So Citibank then? I've just started using woolies again after the Westpac cutback. Third time lucky perhaps.

Sorry for OT, but does the financier fund the GST on normal repayment terms so you get the full cashflow benefit of the GST refund when it comes, or do you have to carry it untill BAS time? The cap-ex in my business is miniscule (and self funded), so I've always wondered.
Yes. In this case it's a chattel mortgage where the buyer gets title and the lender gets a security interest over the goods until the debt is paid. The debt is, for example, $110 (where $100 is the asset and $10 is the GST on it) and a GST credit can be received in full up front when the buyer is on accrual accounting.

I'm sure this has been asked before so apologies as I can't find an answer anywhere.

Has anyone used the CBA Diamond (or any CBA cc) to pay the ATO & then called CBA & used this great rate reduced interest rate deal for 3 months

With the reduction in useful credit cards I've been using the CBA Amex for the points with the ATO all the time. I don't want to kill the golden goose by drawing their attention to it but I don't see anything in the T & C's to say you can't do it so it seems like a great way to get some very cheap credit. I don't see a max amount either it just says over $1k so I was thinking of putting $50k through & using this great rate deal.

Viable or do you think they will think I'm just taking the p... ?

Yes, Pukka, it is viable. I usually do it each quarter.

I posted on it a while ago in this thread, see post 922:

CBA changed the terms a while ago so you can only have one Great Rate-d transaction on a card at any time (and 6 maximum per year). If you are paying tax quarterly, it basically means you can only Great Rate two tax quarterly payments per year, if you want each Great Rate-d transaction to last the full 3 months before you pay it off.

The ATO's 50k limit is unhelpful, if you have larger tax instalments due, because you can only Great Rate one 50k tax instalment on a card at a time.

Still, it is worth doing. I now run two Diamond cards to do this, alternating each quarter which card I pay the tax on and Great Rate. That way I can use the full 3 months. Paying the extra annual credit card fee is worth it to me to be able to do this.

The things you learn around here!

I'll be taking advantage of this pronto ... Cheers.

Edit: Won't be taking advantage before 1/1/15 due to the very limiting point capping - will now pump more through CBA DIA and have the cards in the sock draw much earlier next year.

Would some kind person plse tell me if I can use my shiny ANZ Black Amex for these charges, or must I revert to the WOW card for now?

I have exactly the same question...tracking back I see it's been asked a few times recently, presumably as a few of us have picked these up in the 50k QFF / $0 annual fee offer, but I haven't seen a conclusive answer.

i paid the last bas using the westpac business Gold altitude card and got points but not sure if it still earns points for ato payments. can anyone with the Gold biz card confirm that you can still earn points for ato payments?

I don't have a gold but I have a plat bus. I have never done a test trans but this is my understanding

Does CBA Diamond Amex still earn 3pts/$ at the ATO?

So far this month I have managed to get a fair chunk on 2 MasterCards at the point a dollar deal for that 0.42% rate. The rest has been going on the 1.5 points/miles per dollar for the 1.45% rate. Being a caring and sharing type I am spreading the payments over a great range of cards that are black, silver and platinum because we can. I like to go early as the just in case of a failure which has not happened.
Have a six figure land tax bill that only takes Visa or MasterCard and the BankWest card is capped out. It is a great time to use an international card that has no foreign exchange fee for this one.

Just put my last payment through on Altitude Black - so long friend, it's been a good 8 months (I was late to this party...)

I don't resent those of you that took advantage of it (I would have if I could have), but you have wonder how much longer we could have celebrated if they hadn't run the double points promo and decided they were not making enough (or breaking even, or losing?) on ATO payments.

I wonder if there will come a time when prepaying to Qcash and VA wallet are our only options to get points 0.5 pt/$ at 0.42% [0.84 c/pt - so still acceptable in my world].

Have only one last amount to pay so I think it will go thru my son's Black card as he was pretty wowed by the SQ Suites on Saver.
Next month for us will start before Black is dust so I think I can get a big smile on my face courtesy of some bank credit cards.

Guys are the Citi card any good (select or signature) for the ATO ? If not then what's a good card you can recommend ? I'm on the hunt for the new one.
Cheers
