Cancelled the original flight for full refund, then booked a $1.7k one way flight in QF J taking the last seat of the flight.

Thankfully had insurance that could fully cover out of pocket scenarios like this!

I had JQ62 booked as an award in Business class via QBR a couple of months ago for 13.4K points.

Yes, it was cancelled, but I was able to rebook using the app on any QF J seat that day SYD-MEL at no extra cost.

It's interesting when I recently flew Jetstar HBA ADL they asked me when was the last time I had been in an exit row and I thought it was just because I looked old (well I am old)

Standard question on the last 8 flights with them. I think its to work out how much of a briefing is required etc

I assume they just want to check that you understand the question, can speak English and seem to be in a good mental state.
