Velocity Double Status Credits offer - 17 June till 12th July 2026

100% EOFY revenue raise attempt for their numbers - only valid for travel 17 June to 12 July 2026

Probably the tightest travel window I've seen for a DSC offer with either carrier.
It sounds like a combo revenue + cash raise to me. The window is over year end, but everyone will pay for their fare before 30/6, so travel completed before then goes to revenue (and cash - expenses) but for travel after 30/6 it goes to cash + unearned revenue.

Is this targetted? I got the email, but don't see it in my offers and I don't see it in my wife or son's offers and they haven't received the email.

I got the email and activated straight from it, but don't see it in my offers and I don't see it in my wife or son's offers and they haven't received the email.

I went to the App (Velocity)

Fairly standard VA behaviour for activated offers to disappear before coming back later...I wouldn't read anything into it.

I hit WP at the end of last month a couple of months early so don't need this one thankfully. Not flying much currently. Will need to work hard later in the year to maintain WP again.

Why are they offering these almost useless DSC offers when they want to thin out the elites???

Well we all know the answer to that :) Need to pumo up sales before end of financial year.

Related to your comment about overcrowded lounges and elites at VA2, our entire company just got offered ANOTHER Velocity status match to Qantas, no restrictions, even if you used the one we got 11 months ago!

Normally a triple points deal earn that posts as two transactions has one at base (or Base+status bonus) and the other as 2 x base.

This means 3 x base are posted - c.f. Triple points.

Are you indicating the line named as triple points on posted as 1 x base points?
(My apologies for the delay - I've been super busy.)
What's listed is the following:
Virgin Australia +20 SC
+ 2,370 Pts
Velocity Frequent Flyer Triple Points for flights in & out of OOL +2,370 Pts
Then repeated for the trip back home.

I rang back and was able to get in contact with someone who explained the situation better this time. They told me that the 2,370 Pts is triple because the 2,370 Pts listed under Virgin Australia is the base (5x the amount shown, due to using a Velocity CC) + 100% bonus (due to currently being Platinum). This means that take away the Platinum bonus, 2,370 would be double 1,185 and would be triple in total. So, they were correct, in the end.
Now, I feel silly complaining but thought that it's best to own up to it. I do think that perhaps the Virgin Australia listing should mention that it contains the Platinum bonus.
Never mind. All is good.
(There won't be too many more Platinum bonuses that I'll be receiving as I won't be maintaining that level due to their change.)

The showers were so messy, I think the showers back in my high school were cleaner.
I needed to use one of their showers on the way back from an international overnight flight and can confidently say that of all the showers that I've used in airports around the world (admittedly not a lot, but a few), these were definitely the least clean, most cramped, and darkest.
It got the job done but others that I've used have definitely been better.
(One airport that needs showers in lounges, but to my knowledge doesn't have any (and I did check out three of the lounges while I was there) is HNL.)
