That does kind of make sense.

It’s not like SIN and LAX, that have many flights to Oz. Plus they have the advantage of charging other OW airlines for their F and OWE PAX.

"The ongoing discussions about changes at London’s Terminal 3"

Can we rule out that some or all of the four airlines (BA/AA/CX/QF) are not in talks about combining their lounges?

Even if it’s just BA & AA, to match their JFK lounges.

I'd think BA are more interested in T5.

Speculating here, but my guess is that there won't be any changes for London T3 lounges because the Labor Govt. plan is to close T3 and build a new T5X as part of Heathrow's expansion. So airlines will make do for now and then there might be a combined Oneworld, or partly Oneworld offering in T5X.

If they'll let you in. There have been many reports of people being turned away due to capacity constraints.
Me. about 4pm one Monday last month - and the girl in front. Both told to come back "after 5pm" .... stayed in the QF lounge with its underwhelming buffet ...

BD

Suspect that's definitely part of not spending too much money

As for a combined lounge I think it's also that T3 is just old and a mishmash of structures so it would be difficult to get a contiguous space large enough.

I was always pleasantly surprised they planned to open a F lounge in lhr anyway, for 3 flights per day. I think this plan makes more sense for qf financially. A plat/F dining experience on the GF is a good idea and it’s not as ostentatious as the AKL design as the lounge footprint forces you to head upstairs or downstairs

This isn’t really an upgrade for P1/F pax as they already have reserved tables at the lounge and access to proper champagne, and the windowless Kylie room if that is your thing.

If this is the model going forward than BNE is overdue for some dining and a WP corner.
Especially when PS flights to NYC start… 😉

Or was that the inevitable Brisvegas to Las Vegas flights? 😁

Why would you do that when the BA F lounge would have been much nicer?

And you could've had real champagne, as well as nicer food..

Agree 100% … but then there’s Mrs BD who spied the QF lounge on the way to CX and suddenly needed her hit of “Aussie” having been in the UK for 3 weeks - and we were flying AY so she wasn’t getting that until Singapore!!
