Are You Moving to the USA?

If so, did you want to buy a fantastic washer/dryer pair? These units were $1000 each in the USA! They are Whirlpool front load washer and front load dryer. Both on pedastals (no bending over to load/unload). Both functioned perfectly when we moved.

We foolishly bought them back with us when we moved and now they are just boat anchors for us! Also have a treadmill (same problem).

If your company is moving you back, then these would be a bargain and are fantastic!

$1000 for all three items!

Ahhh, the old 120v to 240v problem.....

One suggestion is to get an industrial size transformer (240v to 120v)and get an electrican to wire in three points to use your washer/dryer and treadmill. Might also be worth getting somebody to send you a couple of US power points to avoid blowing up any Aussie devices. I can help you out here if needed.

Extreme yes, but better than having 3 boat anchors with no boat....

I have plenty of transformers as we bought lots of stuff with us. THe real problem, we there is two, is the cycle difference between USA and Aus i.e. 60 vs. 50. Also for the drier, it needs two phase 220V to operate, so using a transformer does not help, less you can get a phase inverter cheap!

I believe Kmart sell clothes dryers for ~$300.

Not sure about the cost of an inverter...

LOL - yes Kmart does have them! I just hate to dispose of such nice pieces of equipment, kind of a waste. But it may come to that.
