Peter Dutton is the Minister Home Affairs, in charge of the various security agencies in Australia.

"The Department of Home Affairs is the Australian Government interior ministry with responsibilities for national security, law enforcement, emergency management, border control, immigration, refugees, citizenship, and multicultural affairs. The portfolio also includes federal agencies such as the Australian Federal Police, Australian Border Force and the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation."

So far he hasn't spoken a word about how his agencies will treat data collected by the COVID-19 APP.

We've only heard from various health professionals about how useful the data will be for tracking contacts of people who test positive.

In the national press conferences on the app, it was categorically stated that the organisations you quoted will not have access to any of the data. It was stated no federal gov agency will be allowed (by legislation to be introduced this week) access to the data.

Probably because the data won't help them much. We have both installed the app.

Maybe it would assist to read the relevant privacy statement?

Only 17 AFFers indicating an unreserved YES to the poll, so far today.

Added a Poll option for you ...

Probably need to add another option or add to the last option with - Tried and failed - rejected my phone number as an "invalid phone number"

Obviously they are having some teething problems in implementation.

Amusing Betoota comment.

There is nothing to worry about” said the same man who blamed last month’s MyGov website crash of a DDoS attack from foreign hackers, before laughing it off by saying ‘my bad’ when he realised it was simply a result of an overload of website visits caused by his own government telling people to stop going to work.

“This is fine. It wasn’t built by us”

“But, I mean, I know that sounds bad. But… umm. I mean. This was made by actual experts. Not people like us”

Unless he is in Health he cannot access it. That's in the T&C's. 😉 Kinda funny how you've stated that it's only Health professionals who will find it useful.

Did you add a Zero after the 61? That would likely invalidate it.

No I have not downloaded it because if I am going to be ordered to self isolate after contact with a positive case I want it to be because a human has considered the contact and has made a judgment call about the need for isolation, not because an app has decided it based on Bluetooth pings.

Yes, we all hope that there won’t be any shenanigans that are divulged after the event. And, I hope that we do not have to rely solely on the stated T&C. 😒

The only shenanigans I care about is getting Australia healthy and the Economy even healthier.
