9am Melbourne time my account showed Diamond ... @ 2pm it showed Silver ...

Silver card arrived in the mail but website still showing Diamond. Expecting it will show Silver before end of today in line with everyone else.
It was good while it lasted. I just wish if the VA WP status being maintained would also maintain HH Diamond.

You just have to do what I do - flip flop.

This year I will be activating my VA WP status for the 3rd time (I've already activated Gold and Diamond and will activate Diamond again in a few months)

Blue card arrived today. I threw it in the bin as I'm now 'Accor'.

Web site tonight says Gold. If it stays that way Hilton will get maybe 7-10 nights this year when Accor not an option for my purposes (a fair bit in Nth America!). If not, there are plenty of other choices ...

Yes, except last year I didn't fly VA to maintain plat but they comped me anyway. I have made plat again with 4 months spare so no flip flopping.

It's silly that you can drop down and back so get diamond again but they won't comp it again...

Then in November at the latest (or maybe I'll wait until next year) I will click Go on Diamond as I'll be WP again

I just dropped to silver too. Will now be taking my business elsewhere - no incentive to stay at Hiltons anymore, and no chance I will have enough stays to even get Gold.

Got home from work. Silver card in the post and confirmed now on the website.

Like others...will take my business elsewhere. Was good while it lasted, but when at times for the same price as a standard room in Sydney at the Hilton you can get a room at the Four Seasons, its hard to justify staying at the Hilton.

Gold for $295 per year; Diamond if you spend 40K pa.
Free w/e night if you spend 2K in 1st 3 months after joining, and another night if you spend 12k.

I will continue to stay at the Hilton hotels that looked after me with recognition/great room upgrades. Sadly enough the only hotel that really looked after me with a great room upgrade was the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh.
They even allowed a full cooked breakfast in the restaurant even though that's not a benefit of HHonors Diamond. They upgraded us about 5 room types to a great large room with a view!

Every other hotel either no upgrade, one room upgrade and that's about it! Late checkouts - Sometimes offered, usually had to ask/push and at other times they would be calling the room at 12:30 asking when we are checking out even if we had already had a 3-4pm checkout granted.

The hotels that gave no upgrades had other room available and when pushed they did offer an upgrade, one time I moved, other times I couldn't be bothered.

Besides the NOR1 upgrades that I would always get after booking made getting a better room very cheap!

I will book through hotelclub.com.au/amex for most hotels or SPG for the rest !

Silver card arrived in the post today and my online status dropped to Silver today. How did they co-ordinate that?

I note with some apprehension the references to 're-matching' from VA not working. If that is so then I may end up not bothering too much with hotel status. Or maybe I still will. Sigh, decision decisions! No need for me to invoke it just yet (or at least try to) so will let it ride for a little while, and hope for the best when I do.

There have been reports of the option not being selectable online despite attaining a new level if the benefit has already been used at a different level, ie a once off regardless of status change up or down. Or it could well be cough IT, something of a disease in the travel industry that's running rampant.

I think I have missed the point of this thread. Why are you very happy?

By the way mine still shows Gold as I would expect it to stay that way until 31 March 2015 unless I am totally misunderstanding Hhonors.

And all of a sudden my account shows as Blue, despite the Silver card I received yesterday with a 03/2015 expiry date...

I think I might be done with Hiltion.
