ACCC has authorised the AF/AA Joint business agreement JBA extension for a further years until 30 October 2031 finalising an interim authorisation in April 2026.
The authorisation if not appealed to the Australian Competition Tribunal will come into effect 05 November 2026.
(The ACCC uses JBA instead of Joint venture)
The original JBA started 6 May 2011
That JBA was originally authorised for 5 years by ACCC until Sept 2016, then 2 further authorisations until 2021 and 2026 under a revised JBA
This would be the third re-authorisation.
I have not checked if the latest JBA agreement is significantly different to previous JBA.
Separately, in light of this re-authorisation, what does the ACCC have to say about its decision regarding the QF/MU JV?
Some pertinent data:
Capacity share on the transpacific route since the last re-authorisation

Total passenger and seat data since the last re-authorisation
