The first night we had a get together in a sort of council hall. Fish and chips were supplied by a catering truck - cooked fresh but not really very good at all. Not really the time to take photos for a TR.
Next morning we met up for a 2 hour guided tour. Three guides were engaged, all 'official' ones. Two of them could speak German. Most of the Germans were fluent in English but a couple of the older ones struggled. We were told to pick whoever we wanted to guide us as long as the groups were roughly equal. Unfortunately we chose poorly. While the tour was ok looking at the photos the other groups had taken they had received a much better tour.
Anyway around Cambridge. These photos were taken over three days so the weather changed quite a bit. cough usual my phone ha s'lost' a number of photos I took.

This gave me a bit of thrill. The old hunting ground of many famous scientists. Some of the breakthroughs that occurred here -
1897: Thomson discovers the electron.
1912: Charles Wilson invents the cloud chamber.
1919: Rutherford becomes Cavendish Professor, driving forward an era of physics which has by now changed out of all recognition compared with the classical physics of Maxwell. Francis Aston completes his mass spectrograph, which he used to discover numerous isotopes of chemical elements.
1924: Patrick Blackett produces astonishing photographs showing nuclear transformations taking place in an automated Wilson Cloud Chamber.
1932: James Chadwick discovers the neutron.
Rutherford, Wilson & Thomon all won Nobel Prizes
