Appropriate Behaviour in the QF Lounges

We were at Brisbane lounge waiting patiently in line, fair enough we were back a little, but a "lady" marched in and went straight to the desk in front of us to present her credentials. Some time later we noticed her at the self serve counter where she grabbed a rather large handful of teabags. It seems that some people operate on the principle that if it's complimentary than it's open slather.

What a brilliant topic.
Actual airport lounge escapes me (think Africa somewhere), but a bloody littlIndian guy was on his mobile at about a million decibels in this packed lounge, annoying everyone. I was so p****d off, I got up, walked over, grabbed his phone off him, and held it over this little fish tank a couple of yards away. The guy couldn't believe what had happened and chased after me, whereupon I quietly told him to "shut the coughk up". A lot of bemused smiles etc - on my side.

Sounds similar to the same guy (cricket loving origin) who was chattering loudly on his phone 15+ minutes whilst taxiing to the runway, & then had the audacity to then pass the phone to his wife, across the aisle as we were on the runway.. Well.. I let it fly.. Certainly told him to shut up & switch the device off.. Certainly of the most annoying passengers for the rest of the flight as well.

Recently had an absolutely inconsiderant Asian Gent in HKG J Lounge talking at the top of his voice on mobile phone. I tried to to make sublte hints about his loudness but did not get it until I poked my finger in his chest and then .............................. surprise... Ignoramus hung up!

Hi all, I'm so glad to know i'm not the only one noticing some of these things! LOL! @flyrod the 'teabag' comment is fantastic, so typical! What can we do??? Sould we complain more?

I enjoy those 'mobile free zones" in select lounges :D

Gross, these people need an education after they are removed from the lounge. It is as bad as people with more food in front of them than they can ever eat and with kids running amuck annoying everyone.

+1000 & I have notably well behaved children.
Appropriate observations for most hotel / airline lounge buffets/ theme parks / shopping centre food courts around Australia

Yeech. The whole personal grooming in public thingy is behaviour you'd expect more in a share house full of uni students with unmentionable habits and non existent standards of hygiene. In a public and/or club situation? no way. If they don't get called on it, they ain't going to stop it. (Jeez, I'm still thinking yeech)

Back in my school days, had to stand outside the classroom with my nose 5mm against the brick wall for non compliant etiquette in the class. I guess it has changed..

+1 just recently saw a footy player on a flight from OOL to SYD in J , started to clip his nails after the meal trays were cleared.

Changing nappies and toenail clipping are unacceptable. However, I nearly choked on my blueberries one morning at breakfast, with the usual range of food available in the lounge. Some peanut walked in, sat opposite me, and broke out a McDonalds hamburger. It put me right off my muesli. I would have said something, but I was left gabberflustered. Certainly, this must be "undesirable behaviour".

Well, if you want to see inappropriate behavior and dress- any day of the week, but especially weekends- try the Q Lounge in Perth.
Not only was it packed with (mainly) guys in singlets, dirty jeans and thongs, I actually had one sitting very close to me in a singlet with no shoes whatsoever!
The deal seems to be to drink as much of Q's beer as possible before having to fly.
All pretty unpleasant and lacking in the style Q tries to aspire to.
Certainly not premium class presentation!

Common courtesy and respecting others is obviously a lost art in this day and age of the "Me Generation".

Nothing against oldies but this has nothing to do with some so-called "Me Generation". The most "ME" kinda ar+*holes in my experience are usually fat OLD coughs ignoring the road rules in their oversized Mercs. Just sayin...

Currently sitting in Melbourne F Lounge being forced to listen to a lady with her family on hands free chatting very very loudly and have asked the lounge Angels to sugest that she would be more comfortable in a more private area. They declined to do so Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr why should we have to listen to this garbage !!!!!!

I hate it when staff decline to do something if you complain about cough like that. QF and LH have both always been good with that. Zero backbone

I was in the Qantas domestic business lounge in Melbourne yesterday. A man and his wife sat a few seats away from me and while she was reading a magazine he was clipping his fingernails...
At least it wasn't his toenails. :D:D
