Appropriate Behaviour in the QF Lounges

Leaving bits of you behind (clipping nails, wiping snot on the couch etc) in my books is not really on... There are plenty of other times and places for you take care of your grooming needs without others having to put up with...

As long as he was being "clean" about it, as in not leaving his clipping all over the couch etc.

Maybe I'm not very good at using the clippers, but I can't control the little bits of nail, they fly everywhere!

This is why I clip my nails in the backyard (too much information?) ...

Disgusting

I would have gone to the front desk and ask that they do something about it. However, not sure if they would have..

Either way it's not appropriate for any public place and totally unacceptable

If he felt the need to do it right there and then, go to the bathroom and do it over a sink

the mods should create a master thread for people to air their grievances at peoples behaviour in lounges.

I've posted this one before, but the worst I've seen was in the afternoon in the Perth lounge: A couple changing a baby's soiled nappy on one of the tables by the windows.

They should be banned from the lounge for 6 months or even permanently for that behaviour

If I had the time and I saw something being done in the Lounge which maybe shouldn't be done I would probably make a short little vid of it with my iPhone. Make sure their face is visible of course. A little later I would possibly try and ascertain their name then, in due course I would put it up on YouTube. LOL.

WTF? I am assuming that is tongue in cheek.

I don't fully agree with banning, however a table like that is not an appropriate place to change a baby.

You would get told off for doing so at a cafe, why not an airline lounge?

Yikes! That even tops the fingernails in my opinion. I am very easy going about things like this and wouldn't mind someone cutting his nails that much (as long as the nails end up in a neat napkin or something rather than on the floor or seats ) but s+*t belongs into a toilet, that's what this facility is there for.

I was on a KLM flight to Sydney once (yes, back in the days!) when an Indian lady decided to change her baby's nappy right when the food started to get served. When the steward politely asked her to go to the bathroom, she got cranky, picked up the baby and walked down the entire aisle (in Y) with the stinky diaper open for everyone to smell. We happened to fly right across India at that very time and a few angry faces around had the same evil thought of sending her home the fast way

Absolutely appalling behaviour.. Never in my wildest sinister dreams should the 200-300 pax be subjected to such vulgarities.

I agree with that - but a life ban?
I'd say "Two strikes and you are out" with a six months ban after the first offence. But then again- all up for debate, in reality most likely nothing will happen. As with all those *&%#@ rushing past illegally on the bus lane every morning

I was in the Qantas domestic business lounge in Melbourne yesterday. A man and his wife sat a few seats away from me and while she was reading a magazine he was clipping his fingernails. The tell tale clicking sound of nail clippers initially drew my attention to them. I was disgusted and while I let out a "that's gross" that was intended to be subtle and make him reconsider whether his actions were socially appropriate, I didn't do anything more. He kept clipping. I would be interested to hear what are people in this forum deem to be the limit of appropriate behaviour in the QF J Lounge...

Personal hygiene should be restricted to the bathroom. At the MEL J lounge a few months back I watched a woman pluck her eyebrows quite oblivious of her surrondings, I was staring at her hoping she might get the
hint that it wasnt quite appropriate, the problem was subtly didnt quite work on her as once she finished plucking the eyebrows her teeth got a good inspection I was worried she was going to start flossing. LOL...

Nope - You don't change a baby's nappy on a table where food/drinks are served

Take it to a bathroom of which there are plenty in the Qantas lounges

Not when the ADL QP baby change facility is being cleaned, in which case your options are changing in public or being let into the CL next door for said changing activities. We took the latter option - no 6 month ban for us! :)

Cheers

Steve
