Apple drops iPad pricing

The other thing, Should I have got headphones with the ipad?

I am not sure if I got headphones with mine - I would expect so but I dont use the apple headphones as they are cr4p. I personally use Backbeat 906 bluetooh headphones.

Finally, it looks like a new iphone is the best for me as a 3G iphone is probably no longer supported.

Unless you bought the 3G just before the 3GS came out then you have a 3 year old phone and I would say that is due for replacement in the normal cycle of tech users.

I find it interesting that with the price drop the iPad 1 in Oz is now pretty much the same price as the iPad 2 in the USA.

Dont forget that the US price excludes sales tax - say around 8-12% and the Oz price includes GST - it doesnt explain the whole movement (much of which can be attributed to lower sales volumes, retail costs per unit etc...)

Oooh tell me more! I'm looking for a decent set of bluetooth headphones.

....and on the subject of US pricing I bought my IPad in the US, and by the time I had paid state and city tax and the credit card "overseas transaction charge" kicked in I was no better off.:(

I'm in the US in May and even though I have told myself there is no justification in buying the IPad 2 I suspect I probably will buy it!!! :!:

Almost2.5 years, I'm a late adopter and would be happy to keep it for another year or so. Except for the want of a wifi hotspot.

I'm a really late adopter, mine is only 9 months old.

Although not as fast as wifi, the bluetooth personal hostpot was working beautifully for me yesterday. It will do until my contract runs out and I get an iPhone 6.

I will last until mid year with the iPhone 3GS which is when the iPhone 5 is due out.

Oooh tell me more! I'm looking for a decent set of bluetooth headphones.

I have tried pultiple bluetoth headphones and none have been good. I have tried Jaybird but the Bluetooth drop outs we horrendous and I had to buy new ear buds so they wouldn't keep falling out. Also they barely made it through 2 hours of playback...

I tried sennheisser cheaper Bluetooth $250+ and although they had better controls and the best Bluetooth connectivity they provided no shielding for backound noise so couldnt be used on the train or plane.

The back beats are only $130 and have decent Bluetooth but are a little diddly to get comfortable and do get drowned out by trucks around town.

I am looking at the sennheisser noise cancelling but they are over the head and $450...

I have spent many many hours researching this...

What I really want is shure or ultimate ears to come out with a pair of noise isolating over the ear Bluetooth headphones...

Reading between the lines, I think you're saying it would be useful to buy a pair of headphones. I was more asking if headphones should have been included with the ipad. But I guess the answer is no. meh i suppose.

Sorry  not the first time I haven't read a post correctly

I finally gave in an bought a 32GB ipad v1 from Big W yesterday for $549. Will see how useful it is and possibly trickle it down and get a v2 sometime later on.

I'm hooked on Angry Birds HD at the moment.

Picked a good week to crack the glass on my Ipad 1, hoping Ipad 2 drops price next week at the launch of Ipad 3!
