Now, how does one get flights loaded automatically into AFF Flight Tracker? ;)
Maybe not automatically but serfty mentioned this up thread
There is a button labeled "Import Flights" ... from you can select to import from Tripit rather than spreadsheet/files.

The first time you do this there is a process to link your Tripit account.

It's quite simple ... default is past flights but you also can select to list from future flights.

I have been using free Tripit since its early days, for flight and hotel details. It's usually very efficient at automatically deciphering the booking details emails I forward to it from a range of travel vendors. If there are any changes to dates, flight times etc I usually do them manually in Tripit, or at least check very carefully that the updates have been processed correctly. Of course it does send you that email almost immediately, telling you that your just-forwarded travel email details are ready for checking.

I recall seeing some time ago that travel expenses processing (ie from other apps) was starting to be integrated into travel details apps such as Tripit. Has anyone had any experience of marrying the two operations ? It would be great to have scans or photos of all my receipts in with the travel details, and then the ability to get a full expenses listing.

I've used Expensify which integrates things a bit from the other end - from expenses towards trips.

I use both tripit and expensify and both a great, particularly expensify. I don't think that they integrate but, at least for me, I don't really need them too.

I've used TripIt since day dot pretty much. It's continuing to evolve (not a fan of the new 'dashboard' at login but that's not important) and recognises an amazing number of itineraries from Airlines, Hotels, Rental car companies and even events.

My one bugbear (and I don't know of any 'consolidated' app/site that offers it for multiple providers) is that it does not have a way to see any changes to your booking. It will happily monitor for flight changes on the flights it's learned/you've entered, but if your airline changes your flight number or re-routes you, it has no idea. It could potentially do this as TripIt has your PNR and name, meaning they could scrape data from the GDS, but perhaps it's not permitted.

Tripcase does this, but only if you have a booking via Sabre.

I can only assume there's some liability/legal issue as to why TripIt doesn't do this. I'll keep using it though, but as my flights are typically booked by my Travel Agent, they contact me for changes anyway.

I use TripIt, Tripcase and Worldmate. They all seem to have different strengths. Tripit works best on imported itineraries. But Tripcase can use a Sabre PNR, so will automatically update/alert if your reservation changes (on VA) without needing to resend the itinerary. Both Tripcase and Tripit have the useful 'alternative flights' button for those times your flight gets cancelled or you need an earlier/later flight. All support check in from the app (via the airlines website).

I also use separate flight tracking apps as well, with the standout being FlightAware. Unlike the others, this uses ATC so is reasonably accurate. You can also track inbound flights on your operating aircraft, which is often a good indicator of any delays well beyond airport monitors.
