I'm travelling on several AAdvantage miles flights within the US and to Caribbean (in whY :( ), so obviously the flights have my AAdvantage number in them.

Will I get AA (including Flagship) lounge access if I show my QFF Plat / OW Emerald card?

If no, is there any way to get my QFF number and status into the booking?

You can still add your Qantas number to the booking as the primary FF program. This will give you a whole raft of benefits such as free bag and access to preferred seating free of charge (main cabin extra is either 50% discount or free of charge depending on the time you want to lock in your seat).

Otherwise yes, you can just how your card at lounge entry, or at the check-in counters.

I meant to note this in my original post: Within AA's 'Your trip' area, the FF program and the FF number is unchangeable (like my name ).

Any other way to access the FF program, to change it?

I think I did mine on the qantas site... retrieve the booking and add the number.

Unfortunately my flights don't appear on Qantas. The AA flights are independent ones nested within a Star Alliance itinerary.

Oh well, I guess I can hope for access via the physical card ...

cant you retrieve the booking via the booking reference on qantas? then add your FF number.

I've previously done what you want. I called AA customer service and asked them to insert my QF number. They obliged as the AA flights wouldn't accrue any miles, so, it was no loss for them.

No AA uses Sabre booking engine and QF uses Amadeus - Qantas can't 'see' my AA bookings.

Yes AA can do this.
Call them.

Great, thanks ... will do.

Edit - just called, and they put my Qantas number into both bookings, no problem. I then checked on line to see if the numbers had 'taken' - and saw that one of the two bookings had disappeared!! (Visions of ... is it Etihad? ... where Award reservations often cancel out if changed .. :( )

Called AA back and assured both reservations still there ... with my QFF number.

... but I'll keep checking!

OMG! Keep checking ... I would be persidtent.

I have a way of getting my WP number in on AA award bookings at the time of booking/holding, but it requires live html edits.

Just called again ... they again confirmed that both my reservations are in good order, and sent me an e-mail re the reservation I cannot see to demonstrate that it still exists.

Not a great feeling, but I'll call again in a few days and maybe when I reach the USA.

Interesting.

For whatever reason, it was putting my QFF number into the bookings (two AA miles redemption flights) that caused them to disappear off the web site under 'my trips'. When I got them to put the AA number back, I could see them again.

The original agent possibly mucked around with the wrong field, but I think I'll leave it alone now. I'll try to check-in with a human and get them to put my QFF in, but if not I'll just try the 'show the QF Plat card' technique to access the lounge.
