Amex PayPal Acceptance

My recent USD purchases via PayPal with AMEX all stayed as USD.
Good. Iirc, one of the issues why paypal wouldn't accept Amex in Australia was becaise they couldn't dcc it.
My Mastercard attached to PayPal recently expired and I was pleased to see American Express represented in the drop down box. I added both my amex charge card and credit card without a problem. Tonight I went to yourhomedepot.com.au. There is a 2% charge to pay by amex so I chose to pay using paypal using my amex card. Went through flawlessly and without any extra charges being added. It would appear PayPal using Amex is the way to go!

This is awesome! Great find and it works. Good way around normal Amex surcharge.

Thanks for the heads up, just logged back into my business account and it is now an option for me too!
Must have been delayed roll out for business accounts?
I have purchased from an Australian website (See post #64) if that is what you mean....

Does anyone know if I am covered for travel insurance when paying paypal for a Jetstar ticket on ebay by Amex Velocity Plat card?
I got my new card today, activated it, put it on paypal and then bought a Jetstar ticket on ebay all in 5 mins!

Who sells the tickets? If they are legit then you're probably covered - it usually just has to be the full cost of the trip. It would be like buying from a travel agent

Well, it was considerably cheaper than any tvl website for the dates and length of time I wanted to go and included luggage and tucker etc.

Yep, it IS in my name as it's for HNL! As it's on Paypal, I'm covered anyway for any misrepresentation sort of thing.

Never having had an Amex anything before, I'm testing it out. Yes, someone bought and sold it due to a change of plans, happens often seemingly.
It's best to only try this at home if you know the ebay/paypal system I would suggest.
