ALL QF's 330's to get lay flat Business seating - Including Domestic

To be clear, this is part of a SYD-BNE-TSV-BNE-SYD status run, and I was fully expecting to do whole trip on B737s. My main concern with a sub back to B737 would be losing my seat assignment - rows 2 & 3 on the B737 don't have a lot of knee-room for a seven footer :(
For what it's worth, I find row 2 on a 737 far better than row 1 due to the fact you can stretch your legs under the seat in front. That's with only being 6'2 with short legs!
 
moa999, since I too lose track with the numerous contributions to this thread, why isn't QF constantly having an A332 in the hangar to refurbish it given that there are nine remaining to receive attention?

Ummm probably because they have had 2 at time being refurb'd? How else have they had so many done to date?
 
VH-QPC is on a ferry flight QF6005 from SYD down to MEL on Friday 3 June 2016, with arrival at about 1350 hours.
 
Interestingly, I have a booking SYD-SIN on 20 Dec, QF81, showing up as an A330-300, the other service QF 5 is showing as an A330-200, but with skybed mark I seats. I was under the impression that all refurbs would be finished by Christmas.
Also, QF82 and QF6, the return flights SIN-SYD on that night, are both A330-200 aircraft (and I have checked, both MEL and BNE flights are 300's both ways. My only guess would be an -300 going into the paint shop and a -200. Anyone else have any suggestions which could explain this?

QF5 ex Syd and QF51 ex BNE are both -200 on 20th. QF71 and QF35 are 300's.
 
I flew on a VN 787 last week in reverse herringbone and must say much prefer the staggered approach.

I found it awkward sitting essentially at an angle and when it comes to seat space found it to be no more or no less than the Qantas A330 approach. Then of course the IFE couldn't be used until in the air, whereas when it is smack bang in front it can be used straight away.

I'm not sure what the actual 'rule' is for reverse herringbone IFE monitors. While the placards say the monitor must be stowed for taxi, take-off and landing, I was told by CX crew last week that the monitor 'out' is perfectly fine. I'll check it with a friend tonight.

I would argue anyway that 'no IFE' during these stages is better than IFE. From a safety perspective it makes zero sense to have pax engaged with IFE and missing an emergency 'brace' command (a verbal command issued by cabin crew without the assistance of the tannoy will not cut into the audio though headphones).

No. In fact very few.

HNL is operated by the A332 (regos EBG/EBL) with Skybed. Occasionally A333 with new J product operates in place of the A332 but this is rare.
 
EBA was in 22 days, EBC 11, EBB 15 so far - not clear what is normal for this check.
EBM operating PER-SYD today.

it looks like EBM has finally entered Brisbane maintenance for refurbishment this morning after operating QF652. If it has, the next piece of the puzzle if so EBB to finish in Brisbane and EBD to enter.
 
VH-EBB scheduled to be out this morning operating QF651 BNE-PER.
(EBD its likely replacement is flying 589 BNE-PER)
