ALL Accor+ Explorer Membership Discussion

fyi if you forgot to ask for a receipt, and you've paid with a bank card, taking a screenshot of it on your bank account's transaction page, and providing the date + what you ordered, was enough for Accor to add some points into my account. I have been to the Tenerary Bar twice now... and twice, I've had to follow up!
You may have to provide the last four digits of your bank card, granted.

I've been dudded on more than one occasion
But how its even possible to understand if you've been dudded or not? The points statement doesn't distinguish between points earned from the room rate and restaurant spending charged to the room account.
I am not even sure ANY points from restaurant included in this transaction.

I'm talking about points earned when dining and not being a current guest staying at the hotel.
 
Probably mentioned up-thread but when you join you will earn 5,000 QFF pts.

Many AFFers may also be able to claim the ALL Accor+ Explorer subscription against business income or indeed investment income. If you travel for an investment inspection, an investment property perhaps, then the subscription is a legitimate deduction, but make sure you discuss with your accountant.

Travel costs has been non-deductible since 1 July 2017 for residential rental properties unless you operate a "business of letting rental properties" >> ATO. You need a new accountant if your one is letting you claim the tax deduction.

Yes I know that travel is out for residential. I have commercial / industrial investments, but others may have other types of investments that allow travel claims.
 
I signed up to Accor+Explorer yesterday in part to take advantage of the 3x rewards points promotion which finishes today.

I booked with Mantra for a 4 night stay in June and then cancelled a parallel booking made when I was a lowly Classic level, saving $302. Now Gold until end of December 2027. In one 4 night booking I have saved almost the total cost of the Accor+Explorer subscription. Better than I had anticpated.
 
Another newbie question. My membership ends on 30 June and I am contemplating whether to use the automatic renewal payment, which has a discount of $40. However, when I joined, I got 2000 points. Can anyone who has been a member for longer than me please tell me whether these points offers (or perhaps a bigger discount) are regular, or should I just bite the bullet and use the automatic payment? I might add that I will definitely rejoin as I have got great value this year.

One thing to note is that it can be better to wait until the beginning of the month of your next planned stay before renewing.

So, unless you have a stay in July, then you could wait.

Your subscription lasts until the end of the month in which you signed up. I joined on 2 May and my profile indicates I am enrolled until 31/05/27.
 
I am not sure which Accor Forum to post this on - so will give this a go. I am an Explorer Plus Gold member and I stay regularly at a resort, where I own an apartment (so not booking the stay through them) HOWEVER I eat at the restaurant and go to the bar regularly - I get the discount, as I give my card each time, but I never get any points attributed to my ALL account. Is this correct? I thought I was supposed to get points for NON-STAY food and beverage. When I contacted them after a 6 week stay (!!!) they told me I had to provide an individual receipt for every meal, not my bank statement where it clearly stated 'P..... Food and Beverage' as the charge. It is a lot of points for a 6 week stay................I have recently had a 3 week stay, and the same thing - no points at all. Have I got it wrong? Is the discount the benefit and nothing else? Thanks to the Brains Trust.........
 
You get points for eating in theory, but because you use explorer for the discount they often forget to get the All card details which attribute the points, so ask for a receipt and then do a manual claim
 
Is it just me or is Accor really poor at crediting points to restaurants outside of a stay? Maybe it's the fault with the individual hotel, but I've been at the Ternary Bar at Darling Harbour twice now, and in each case, I had to file a missing points alert to Accor. What about everyone else?
Same issue for me with a 6 week stay at Peppers in Palm Cove and another 3 week stay last month - NO points at all. I contacted Accor, with my bank statements from the 6 week stay where it clearly stated 'Food & Beverage', but they wanted an individual receipt for every meal and drink to give me the Missing Points - on my recent 3 week stay, I kept receipts but no points yet............

I had the same issue - 6 week stay and no dining points, but they would NOT accept the bank statement where it clearly stated Food and Beverage. Again, 3 week stay recently - no Accor Points for any F & B. But I did get the discount, so we know they entered the transaction.
 
The discount is not related to getting points, two different card numbers needed to achieve both.
AHhhhh- so I have to give my Explorer Plus to get the discount and then my other ALL GOLD card to enter the points? That seems like it might be too hard for the servers, but will give it a try next trip.
