Due to the alleged hijacking attempt on board Wednesday 31 May 2017's MH128 (2325 hours MEL - KUL), D7213, the 0010 hours MEL - KUL took off at 0251 hours on Thursday 1 June and with A333 9M-XXH is expected to arrive at about 0846 hours, 136 minutes late.

Advice as to whether passengers had to leave airside and be screened a second time would be appreciated.

There is an article here:

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/malaysia-airlines-flight-mh-128-returns-to-melbourne-after-incident-on-plane/news-story/8b6f36d08bf5f11567665235e0066ed1

Subsequent to this, Victoria and Australian Federal Police are being criticised for not boarding MH128 for 90 minutes once it was on the ground back in MEL. One caller to radio 3Aw said the police must have been having an occupational health and safety meeting. Not a good look.

Friday 9 June has D7215 (0935 hours MEL - KUL, A333 9M-XBC) not having become airborne until 1020 hours. It should pull in to the Malaysian centre of commerce at roughly 1632 hours, 37 minutes tardy.

On Sunday 25 June 2017, D7237, the 0650 hours PER - KUL (A333 9M-XXE) was early airborne at 0655 but experienced problems and returned to PER, landing at 0937 hours:

Colleague 9M-XXJ on D7223, the 1100 hours SYD - KUL that took off at 1129 is predicted for arrival at 1827, 52 minutes late.

Another report - rather brief - has a passenger perhaps exaggerating in describing the aircraft 'shaking like a washing machine':

I can't help but remember one of our AFF aviator's funny (but apt, and with a serious side to it regarding alleged poor training of pilots, or inexperience) comment about how 'free would be too much' for a fare to travel on D7.

A further iteration of the above media coverage re the 25 June D7 turnback to PER suggests that the captain asked everyone to say a prayer:

Passengers told to 'say a prayer': Perth AirAsia flight turned around

359 passengers aboard a 377 seat aircraft is a 95.2 per cent seat occupancy rate, which is impressive given that on leisure routes those who, as AFF member JohnPhelan famously said, do not board because they are 'at the barrrrrr-rrrr' may always be a few in number. AirAsia X may also block off four or six seats for crew rest, but I have not been on it to observe this.
