1 MILLION FREE SEATS this Tuesday 3am AEST.

A heads up basically for the moment.
Including United Kingdom according to the UK homepage...could be quite a cheap grab to London, although its certianly cattle class, thats for sure;)

This also is cheaper than the previous "Free Seats" due to "No Fuel Surcharge".

Travel is just getting so cheap at the moment..

Has anyone flown with them? As a LCC how do they compare with Jetstar?

Yep, Ive used them between OOL & KUL and for a pile of internal Malaysian flights

Basically same as Jetstar.

Futaris...where did you get these prices from, I am interested in seing the rest if you could provide the link please:)

If you play around with the system you will notice that flights around Dec 2009 to STN / HKG / MEL / OOL / PER has not been released yet, I doubt it will be included for this sale.

Their advertising is not misleading either, I suspect the sale will include limited Xmas 2009 travel for some intra asia routes....

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

MEL to KUL = $82.00
KUL to STN= $246.00
= MEL to LON for $328.00,one way, wonder how much they charge to
bring you home again?

Well at these prices even mrsdrron may be tempted. We are going to do our aborted Cambodia/Laos trip towards the end of this year and $22 for KUL-SRP is hard to pass up-probably get us with the baggage charges though.
I had to laugh when looking at their website and the description of their XL seats-legacy business class without the frills of check in or airline lounges. If you are on an old time business seat the frills are what makes it worthwhile!

Surprisingly a oneway QFF award's taxes are still less:
MEL-syd-sin-LHR: 64k points + $241.41

And a one-way SQ Krisflyer award (at 25% off) is:
35625 miles, $65.42 taxes and $288.00 surcharges (total $353.42)

Not surprising given the the Air Asia fares to London are not the free + taxes special, but are in fact a special fare. The free flights promotion does not include London, so a bit pointless to compare it to what the QF taxes are.

I like the 3AM AEST start - which is likely to mean less competition to get those flights to KUL for $160 rtn :D

The MEL to K/L fare is pretty astonishing,I checked webjet and the cheapest fare I could find was an MH fare at $842.00 (For a random selected day during the life of this promotion so perhaps not very scientifically done)

Some good fares I see, mainly throughout November.

OOL-KUL-OOL for $104 a/i (but pay extra to select your seat, have checked baggage, food, etc)

Well as I reported a few months ago, I managed to secure a AAX flight from London Stansted (STN) to OOL for just over AUD 550 to get me back after my trip back to the UK in August. That helped me out when QF Classic awards weren't available.

And although I haven't flown AAX before, I've flown hundreds of 1p / GBP1 / EUR 1 and other very cheap LCC around the world. I've done JQ International a number of times and as long as you don't expect champagne on boarding then it's really not a problem.

So today I booked STN to KUL for GBP 198 (approx AUD 430) and the free onward KUL to MEL for 271 MYR (about AUD 110).

That's with extending to 25kg luggage, choosing my own seat (window exit) and meals on both sectors.

And connection wise, it's OK. Means an overnight in KUL but I'm happy to break up the trip if I'm sat bolt upright for a day !

I can see why people say it's not cheap if you don't get the cheap cheap fares and I know it's a come down after being QF business TO London but if there's not the points availability I'm happy to give these guys a go - well a couple of gos.

I hope my August experience with them goes OK, otherwise I'll be dreading December ! Will let you know.

Good point futaris,

I was looking at the same site at well, I have noticed that they are building a Tune hotel next to the LCCT back at Xmas, and I am going to have a 6 hours over night stop in LCCT next year....I know it will be a brand new building...

The price was cheap ! Double room + 12 hr A/C (yes they charge Air Con by 12 hr block) + 1 towel for only RM $28 !, that is about $11 AUD...

Hey there futaris and FL360, we're on the same track. I had already booked the LCCT Tunes for the Xmas trip (one overnight) - yeah, it was only 23 MYR.

What the hell, a bed for a full night will be perfect to break that journey. ETA KUL LCCT at 20.30 and departs 13.20 next day, so by the time I check out at 11am, it'll be time for AAX Check in !

I've booked the downtown KUL for 2 nights for the July trip. AUD 44.83 with ANZ's conversion fee is a bloody bargain. And a full day to have a quick look round KL

I'm used to Sheratons and Westins normally but I've got to try this mob.

Thanks for your advice boys.
