Looks really nice, however, how long is that white interior going to stay pristine? A nightmare for the cleaners.

That product has been flying for around 5 years and still looks as white as day 1!

I was assuming it must be new. I don't recall seeing it before, however I haven't searched details on NZ aircraft, so that's probably why

The PE "Spaceseat" indeed has been around for some time.

They commissioned it to coincide with the introduction of their 77W's.

I have never used it longhaul but quite a few times trans Tasman.

The Spaceseat's days maybe numbered however - last year they started refurbishing their 772's and a more traditional PE seat is being installed - I saw comment yesterday that this PE product is also to be installed onto the 77W replacing the Spaceseat - thus squeezing more seats in.

Understandable. It looked very roomy. I'm guessing 42" seat pitch would be one of the best PE offerings on the market?

I'd be surprised if that happened. Two other 77W's joined the fleet in 2014 with the Spaceseat so I'd say the refitted 772's and 789's will have that other black premium economy seat and the 77W's will keep the Spaceseat.

They are keeping it on the 77W for specific routes.

I've flown AUK-LAX with the spaceseat for an overnight flight and wasn't overly impressed. It was great whilst awake, eating, watching videos etc. but shocking when trying to sleep as it has poor recline for those over about 5'10

I had the opportunity to sit in one on display recently. It was well uncomfortable in the recline position. I dunno how, but the position of the lumbar support seemed to hunch my shoulders forward. It was kind of like a big version of the infamous CX economy shell seats.
