I remember a computer maintenance book that said something to the effect of 'remember if there are parts left over, you are the one that took it apart'. Another piece of advice was to not use a hammer while repairing a computer.
Two things to remember when repairing computers:

What a screwdriver won't fix, a hammer will.

If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer.

I thought that was car maintenance

Or a very good quote I've heard

"If it aint broke, you're not trying hard enough".

Am I right that Mal is the winner of the 20000th post?

http://www.frequentflyer.com.au/discus/viewtopic.php?t=1362
No we are not there yet beardoc.

How do you tell which is the 20000th post?

There is a difference between the post with the ID of 20,000 and when AFF shows there are 20,000 posts, due to a number of reasons. The 20,000 th post was decided when the BBS software reported that there were 20,000 posts.

Or in the case of the 25,000th post thread when the post number with ID 25,000 is posted.

Congratulations infoworks for the closest guess. :)

Congratulations oz_mark for making the 20,000th post

A big thank you to Kiwi Flyer and infoworks for kindly donating the SQ F pyjamas and the SQ PPS 2006 diary.

As infoworks opted out of collecting prize as prize donor straitman you as the next closest win the prize. Can you please PM your address details to both Kiwi Flyer and infoworks.

Thank you to everyone for making this contest fun. Considering we reached 19,000 posts after lunch last Monday the next 1,000 posts came in less than 6 days.

Congratulations infoworks for the closest guess and oz_mark for the 20,000th post and thanks for donating the prize onwards. Much appreciated. Not really any other way I'd get some SQ PJ's and I need another diary for home use. :D

Wow I go away for a week and it all happens. :!:

Five days and twelve hours later there have been another 707 (now 708) more posts.

We should make the 25,000 in about a month already :!: :D :D 8)

From my perspective it appears that the 22,000th post goes to ..........

cabbage74

Congratulations.

Your prize is a free smillie :!:

:D :D 8) :p

Only 34 more posts to reach 23,000!

Last 1,000 posts in less than 9 days.

Well I guess that's just manic, whacky & Wierd!
Can we fit frantic, turbulent and tumultuous in there somewhere!

23,000 has come and gone. Interesting to see how quickly the next 1,000 occurs!

This may be a foolish question, but why is this being discussed in this thread and not the 25,000 post thread?

Can't we just let this one go.....
