awesome to see you again.. thanks for coming along

Anytime - great to run into some familiar (and friendly) faces.

I think Wozza and I were both reluctant to return to work

Monday lunch time openings of restaurants here in Brisbane are as rare as hens teeth. Must be different in Sydney CBD  ;).

How would Monday 8th May work for the group? Hardest thing can be finding somewhere open?

It would be great to see you again, my dear friend.

There's always a group of us that will join you. And Ambar is always open for lunch during the week (they are not opened for dinner on a Monday evening as Penegal and I have discovered previously).

Is the 8th a lock in?

If so, I'm sure people will reply to this thread to confirm they have popped it in their diary. We can book a table. And I am sure some of us can dig into the wine collections to bring something suitably nice (I think it's me up next to contribute, and I've got some good ones to offer up for the group).

I'm in. Let's see who else is in too ...

Lock it in Wozza. Just got to lock in all my appointments either side of lunch @ Ambar 12.30pm. Don't dig too deep in the cellars...entry level will be fine.

Great. It's now in my diary.

I reckon we should open that Cullen Diana Madeline 2014 I picked up for $50 (well the average pack price). And give that an early, foretaste. Maybe somebody else could bring a similar wine to try alongside it - a nice, but cheaper MR Cab Sauv / Cab blend.

Anybody else joining us?

Or will QF WP and me just need to take the afternoon off from seeing our respective clients ... ?!

Okay, that last comment is tempting - my flight is at 8pm.... :D

Alas, I don't think I can see them all before lunch.

Don't waste a DM on me - particularly given the discount you got on it. Keep it for your cellar.

It won't be wasted, my friend.

I would never dream of consuming my best wines alone. It's just not in my nature.

The best wines are those that are shared with good friends over a good meal. I'm not alone in living out that mantra. We've shared some crackers between our little Sydney group, including last week with the Katnook Estate Odyssey 01 and 05 generously brought by Viridianne and CJEMNMAC.

I have 2 other DM 14s. So I am keen to try one early. It will help me gauge when to drink the other 2.

Looking forward to it.

I have all the Diana Madeline vintages from 2005 through to 2014, so we could do a side-by-side...
Otherwise, I have plenty of "decent" MRs - Amelia Park Reserve, Pierro L.T.Cf, Blue Poles Allouran, Cape Mentelle etc.

But maybe we should check the weather closer to the date? If it's going to be warm, something lighter might be better.

Okay, who am I to argue with the purveyor of the wines. Of course, if I brought a dessert wine, well there would go the afternoon appointments...

I take it from your kind offer, AC, you will be coming. Which is great.

They are all great choices.

If you are the bringer of the second wine, then you can make the choice, based on weather or other factors, as you see fit.

I love the Amelia Reserve, and it's very approachable young, with great MR characteristics. Similar with the CM and Allouran. I've not had the Pierro before. As for an 05, 06 or 07 DM, that would be pretty special. The 05 and 06 are big wines (not had the 07), needing a lot of airtime (not unlike the 14 that will be opened!!).

Looking forward to whatever you do choose to bring ...

As previously indicated, current plans see me elsewhere on the 8th :( :(

I will be there, do we need to make a booking Katy?
