Just saw kpc and +1 off to the airport for their flight home after a nice drive up to Port Douglas for lunch (firmly clutching gwilli1's left-behind items).

A great weekend, met a number of new faces and reacquainted with many old ones (you know what I mean :) ). Thanks heaps to JessicaTam, straitman, penegal and samh004 for the organising, Hilton/DT GM, QF pilot Ian Kerr and RedRoo for their entertaining and informative speaking, prize sponsors (QF, VA, Doug_Westcott, Major, admin/AFF and any others I may have missed (sorry). penegal for the arrival taxi service, the staff at both Hilton and especially DoubleTree for looking after us well.

Sorry if I missed anybody. Also of course thanks to all who turned up. If none of us did then these weekends wouldn't happen.

Till next year...

This was my first "get together" as a member and made some great new friends & learnt lots of tips, including all about a "Mattress Run". Thanks to everyone for their contribution to making that happen. I appreciate that planning these events is extremely time consuming. Great effort by everyone involved, including a fantastic limo service by Penegal.

As AFF nine draws to a close,
those leaving CNS no longer in droves,
we partied hard and drank so much wine,
won't mention who was last home every time,
the dinners out or lunches at a pub,
who new this lot would be better than an A330 sub,
so all of you who organised the event,
your tireless efforts never relent,
meeting new faces year after year,
shows what a great group we are so lets cheer,
till AFF ten we await,
is it DRW or is it PER we debate,
Hope to see you all again at mattress run,
Chasing status credits is always fun.
Take Care Mickeyc747

In in a rhyming mood,
Instead of a drinking mood.

Great to catch up with you again and have a great holiday !!!

I did eventually after retrieving a spare set of keys from a friend

Aside , kpc , now has the forgotten articles in his possession and they will be winging there way to SYD to its forgetful owner tonight.

Goods delivered :)

As we are now home after a fantastic few days we would like to give a BIG thank you to Jessica Tam, straitman and their terrific team. Their organisation was faultless

We had a great weekend catching up with known faces and meeting new members.

We look forward to future functions

We lost our shadow in 6B but made up with it from special treats delivered to us from Aeolus by the lovely CSM Anthony !!!
Anthony Whitlock, definitely one of the top CSM I've met to date, will commend him to QF Customer experience. If anyone is on his flight, he should know who we (AFF) are now! ;) My best QF Dom flight to date, at one stage, I was having a conversation with 2xdreamliner pilots, the CSM and the FA at the galley. Unfortunately I'm not at all well versed on aircraft terms so I couldn't ask much about the 787 ( they are all thingy's to me ) but it was so interesting learning a bit more about the airline industry.

I have good thinks to say (didn't have the unfortunate experience of CaviAck).

No survey here yet; while our stay was fine, we did miss out on a few benefits...

I'm relatively a new comer... but, the furthest west we've been to is Adelaide?! Either DRW or PER will fix this, however. ;)

I was interested when this came up over the weekend. I didn't even know they did surveys until then as I have never had one.

Mrs Lime very happy with the picture prize. Must say the meal at Hilton was excellent noting the prawn dish was sensational and the dot idea for who gets what meal was a good idea.

+1 & I are back in Cairns after a detour to Cooktown. If anyone is still around and needs a lift to the airport this afternoon or Thursday morning send a PM to Gem56.
