Rebranding was supposed to happen last year as well. I would suspect this change will be done in conjunction with the replatforming. Interesting that the member for a day certs also stop at the same time.

Looks like you can no longer use the Accor+ renewal date trick to push out your status - Previously status was determined at renewal based on either the current or previous calendar year. In the new terms this has changed to "ALL Accor+ Explorer Membership status (e.g. Gold, Platinum and Diamond) is assessed in the same manner as ALL Accor members."

I don't understand how this will work in practice. Terms says you will never be downgraded to Silver so status is still somehow linked to your membership expiry date.

You will never be downgraded so long as your part of the program and getting 30 nights credit

Thank you for the heads up of the changes. I had no idea of the changes.

My membership expires on the 31st August and was automatically renewed on the 1st August at $369. Supposedly 20 bonus nights and 10 bonus nights for renewal? So equals 30 and my gold status will remain.

I was at first annoyed about the new mention of two bonus nights, but did notice that it says your 1 free night will be converted to 2 after the 1st Oct. I hope I am right?

So I guess I can't change anything now and will wait and see if I get an email from Accor confirming the changes.

If you don't use your Free Night, it will convert on October 1.
I understand emails are coming out today

The problem with the free night is they're becoming scarcer to find and more common to see a supplement that you need to pay.

With the dining discount it also means combining multiple memberships for a group now becomes less valuable.

With the two free nights, I suppose you could split a four night stay into two two night stays and only pay for two of them.

I don’t get this bit about the new Stay Plus Free Night:

Even if you booked your Stay Plus FREE night before the launch but haven’t used it yet, you’ll still benefit from the upgrade, as long as you meet the minimum stay requirement.

Considering up the top it says:

If you’ve already booked a Stay Plus complimentary night, rest assured your booking will be honoured exactly as planned, with no changes.

I have an existing Stay Plus night booked for a single night in December - should this be interpreted that it will be honoured or does it need to be 2 night minimum stay? It’s a $700+ single night booking so not keen on having it converted into a 2 night minimum deal.

It will be honoured as is.

hmm.. if I have booked 1 stayplus on December, and then later if I want to cancel it (after october), will it automatically converted to 2 stayplus?

So, in regard to the status updates indicated retaining will change; to clarify my understanding.

Previously - I enrolled in Accor Plus September 2024 and received a 20 night credit. This combined with a further 40 or more nights previously credited in 2024 to earn Platinum. My understanding was that if I renewed Accor Plus before end of September this year I would maintain Platinum until at least September 2026, if insufficient nights in 2025.

Until October 1st, that is still the case.

another questions, if my membership ends in December, usually the renewal email comes on early December right? so the 30 night status will be added on December or January (next year), for the count of platinum status I need it to be added in December, so just asking to make sure.
