A little bit of moderation in Dubai.

So with a midnight arrival, what did you do regarding hotel check-in?

Transfers were arranged by bus and a very timely check in despite our numbers. Most if not all are no doubt sleeping in a bed as I type!

I guess you might be a bit tired as you read this, so no time or effort to put up other photos or report on minor details.

You didn't get a warm (or wet, rather) welcome into Dubai? I suppose there had to be some fanfare at the gate, even if there was no water cannon.

First a recap on inflight events:

On boarding we noticed that J had a nice little memento of the day on the chairs, no such luck for us in PE

After the 1st hour of flight there has been much to talk about, both AJ and Tim Clark came onto the flight PA to do a spiel about the inaugural. Looks like there is some in cabin interviews going on in J, with some of the camera crew rushing off with their rather large cameras, the action must have been too much for Jessica M who has joined us in the Y+ cabin to chill (middle seat three rows back).

Have to say I wish all my flights are like this, lots of fun and although we are in PE, it feels like first class all the way.

After drinks it was time for dinner, I chose the beef which was very nice, all food on these flights is Halal.

It was of course accompanied by a lovely Cullen Red, a label I have to thank Epicure for having only recently discovered their wares. Fans of the "sourdough" must go movement could have closed their case with my bread roll, it was very average.

In the interests of serving our AFF community and knowing that its more than likely that the odd JASA might be taken on this flight, a J Menu was procured:

Just prior to the meal service I was greeted my the CSM, and given an fast track card for our arrival:

After dinner, having watched Zero Dark Hour which was a tad boring, I had that missing something feeling. With LW having gone for a walk just after take off and not returned, I decided I had better check what he was up to! It did not take long to find him:

I took the opportunity to take a photo of "the stairway down to heaven"

LW was not alone at the bar as Bossreggie was with him, we all proceeded to spend the next few hours talking about life, the universe and other matters over the odd drink, at one stage even some of the crew joined us during some "seatbelt on" turbulence rides (although not for a drink).

It had seemed like some time, but we were only just flying past Perth:

Clearly time and reason for another drink!

Well, if he canoodled his way into J lounge I hope he didn't also use the J bathroom facilities!

Great photos.

I would suggest "Boss" had significant input in the location. As far as J lavatories go, maybe not - from there there are two quite civil lavatories just near the bottom of the "Stairway to Heaven".

Mark has covered off the story rather well, I do have a couple of additional photos that I'll put up over breakfast.

Looking forward to pics of lunch, I caught the tail end of a QF/EK repot on Sky News before, will try catch it at the top of the hour. Aaron Young is over there in Dubai.
