A little bit of moderation in Dubai.

As long as it doesn't involve 25 words or less

We already have signs of 'The most creative entry wins.'. So maybe the 25 words or less is the way to go - but unlike QF, the entries should be put up for all to see and the names withheld :p.

I saw the SBS news interview with AJ. I presume you guys were sitting next the them on the lounges! Emerald City looked busy, too!

Well the prizes are mounting up with Emirates throwing in a USB stick as has the Marriott. We have been flat chat all day and having only the WiFi at the hotel makes it difficult to post, we are about to attend the Gala dinner which should be interesting, some 600 in attendance. Will post when we can.

Bossreggie, I just tried ringing you in your room. You need a tie and cuff links still for tonight? Ring me

And to think you're out shopping while I have to read these depressing threads of gifts, presents and going out *sobs into pillow*

Works like a charm!

It's been a while since I saw one of these mini-tasers offered for sale in Pattaya, but my students know exactly how effective they are as a teaching aid.

You of course know Lindsay has had to pass by a Tiffany's, and the gold suq is for the next day... ;)

(Sorry, I'm not trying to rub it in. I'll let myself out now to get a head start... :p)

These gifts remind me of the Star Mega Dos - plenty of random trinkets and the like. Sounds like any good airline gala.

600 guest dinner?! Wow... hope you all have quite a few hours to network, and fly the AFF flag ;)

Oh yeah.

I still don't have my luggage.

Also.... Let's just say that myself and a certain high profile guest, (Not an AFF person) decided to sit in the J Bar area for a number of hours and Enjoyed a drink or 10. We finished all the 18 YO Glenlivet from F so we started on the 12 YO from J. Lindsay Wilson was there for part of that time....... So he knows who it was.

I already have an email from him this morning saying we will have to catch up again. Very funny guy as it turns out.

I scored a mini boss win by getting the details of a very good looking and funny FA as well.

Tomorrow it is only 80 guests.

I am not going to the arranged dinner tonight. My cousin is in town from Saudi Arabia, so we are going to Table 9.

Lindsay did not just pass by Tiffany, and tonight was very Gala, with Jessica Mauboy and a famous international performer making the tent go off! Unfortunately the MC was Eddie Maguire and Kerrie Anne performed a brief (fortunately) solo to end the night.

Dubai has now sampled a little bit of the F lounge with the pav in a glass for desert. All up another first class event, photos to come as is sleep for both of us, we are watching the dawn from the highest building in the world, in the meantime "I will survive" ;).

Word of the antics on the inaugural QF1 has got out, mentioned twice today by Tim Clark and AJ as well as Eddie, not often a QF plane runs dry in some cabins!

Great to see KAK getting a gig but Eddie, not so much.

Looking forward to hearing about the Dune dinner. We did a Dinner under the Stars for hubby's 50th at Uluru and it was magical.

BR, without your luggage? Already experiencing life as a mere mortal travelling in Y. :)

I'm having a quick look at the Emirates Lounge in Sydney before getting ready for my QF1 Flight to Dubai and then onto London. All the posts so far have definitely built up the buzz for my flight.

Some pics (at last)!

Press Conference at EK HQ @ DXB, very polished:
