I was in China and arrived home 9pm last night - BP Promo expires Mar 31 - I would be astounded if bonus pts not awarded for any purchase from BP with receipt dated Mar 31 or earlier regardless of pts posting date in Amex.

I needed to wait until the end of my Amex bill cycle.

Any transaction dated 31/3 is entitled to the bonus points, very simple. I think BP will be happy to close off on this promo - however I'm sure there will be more in the future.

Happy with my level of involvement, garnered some great points but not as much as some here

Tried to purchase petrol and gift cards. My transaction melted their computer system and they made me wait an hour before saying "maybe you should leave your details and come back tomorrow". Not happy.

I have a djs Amex won't let me register and also a westpac altitude gold Amex won't accept it either .

Any help?

Sorry, I think you're out of luck - those cards are excluded from the promotion.

David Jones American Express Cards and Cards not issued by American Express are excluded from this promotion.

This is hilarious. I gave my Mum a heads-up today on the ability to get bonus points by buying BP gift cards. So she went down to the local BP this evening to stock up, but the attendant refused to accept her Amex card, instead stating that the store would only accept cash or eftpos for gift card sales. He mentioned he got in trouble with his manager earlier in the day for accepting an Amex on a large gift card purchase.

The funny part? That large purchase was me buying $1200 worth of cards earlier today!

Here is my story!

Went to the BP on the corner of Goodwood Road/ Cross road. Went in topped up on fuel and then asked about Gift cards. Purchased $500 worth of cards now I'm waiting for him to load them up as I stand there twiddling my thumbs. His response "sorry we don't do anything with them, you just buy them and swipe them" err... I think you're supposed to pre-load them? Ok so cut a long story short... he was going to get his manager to sort it out with me in the morning as he didn't know what to do. I felt a little uncomfortable with that so I asked him to just refund me. I can refund you was his response but I have to give you back cash. errr... lol sure? You won't get in trouble? No was his response. I offered a mobile number if he had any problems but he declined and was really nice about it.

So it appears I got a free bonus 3500points and walked out with cash!

Next was to try the BP on Goodwood road in Westbourne Park about 1km away. Walked in and asked if they sold BP gift cards followed by can I purchase them with a credit card? Yep, but any transaction over $100 will require ID. NO PROBLEMS!! So I get talking to the guy, explained to him the promo and he laughed, was a good attendant, a bit of chit chat, loaded up my 2 x 200 1 x 100 and off I went!

It's weird I almost felt like I was doing something wrong in each of the BP stores on both occasions, but at the end I got what I came for. Now to just fill up my other car a little later in the evening and maybe buy some more ...

My number 1 man just filled company van with gas and petrol in Frankston (Vic) - total $57.02 - used $30.02 to expire 1 gift card and extracted $27.00 from a second gift card - attendant did not flinch - receipt for 1st card shows zero balance and receipt for second $200 card shows remaining balance $173.00 - it's a beautiful thing.

Just went in to the BP on the corner of Brighton/ Diagonal went to buy 4 x 100. Could only purchase with eft/ cash. Said it was for security reasons I offered him my Drivers license and a bunch of other cards, still refused!

Offer ending soon but no luck with stores allowing gift card purchases with credit cards! Anyone from Adelaide had any luck?

Yes, the one on main north road near the car yards just out of north Adelaide. Also on the on on northeast road near TTP, opposite the mitre10/ buntings. Already mentioned these in thread.

Original store refused to do gift cards when I went back today as "it breaks their system". Drove to another store and paid 2% surcharge because I couldn't be bothered any more. Got my $600 in cards though

Well, it's all over now apart from those in PER - you still have an hour and three quarters to go. Thank God it's over, now to use the gift cards for my petrol over the next 3 months

Bought only $200 worth of gift cards this time round. Even pouring the 98 premium stuff, I use around $10-$15 of petrol per week so these should last me a good three months

Stocked up on Saturday, $1200 in gift cards, was tempted to do more, $100 in iTunes and my petrol so around $1400 all up gave me 9000 points all up. Very happy!

Took the guy a while to work it, but he got there in the end!
