Just to clarify, for Plat Edge cards, which already earn 2 points per $ at service stations, the total points per $ would be 7?

Got 490 points for a $70 fuel purchase which is then reimbursed by work.

I swore not to buy from them after the oil spill in LA. As straitman said, they are also generally more expensive (as I use my Woolies EDR card) and there are few on my way to/from work, although the one that futaris mentioned would have been perfect.

Here in Melbourne they are pretty much always the same as Woolies/Coles

Besides Woolies/Coles have enough market share anyways!

Given that you earn 5 points per $1, it's about at 40% return, so an extra few cents a litre is still well worth it

Just registered my Qantas Amex card - poor guy in the call centre was confused: apparently the references for Qantas and non-Qantas cards is different and I had to lead him through how to go through the Qantas Amex portal! He finally got it - and said he'd put it through the system to sothers don't get the same confusion.

I just called 1300 363 276 and the guy at the call centre said I had to go to the website AE/bonuspartners to register.
Going there tells me to ring 1300 363 276.
Just going around in circles, and we both agreed it is not made easy to find where to register for the offer.
He is going to give me a call back as soon as he finds out what needs to be done.
Apparently he could register me for a lot of the other offers, but not the BP one.

As I only use BP Ultimate in my car and want my bonus points

This is excellent my local BP in Parramatta sells iTunes vouchers but tonight I purchase a lotto ticket for the $5 $30million Lucky Jackpot with my petrol so if I don't win atleast I win 30 Amex points

You're looking at the Membership Rewards website - check out the link I included in my post. Just call the number on the website and quote "5xBP" and you'll be registered. Like I said, I've already receive one lot of points!

did you fill up or you bought gift card? coz with coles, buying gift card doesnt land you 3 x points with the edge for example....

I've used the card at a couple of BP's over the past few weeks and my statement has always read.... BP SMITH ST MELBOURE or something similar. And I've always got the bonus points when the regular points credit.

The last couple of times I've used the card has been at one specific BP and the statement reads AA S/STN MELBOURNE. The statement doesn't mention BP at all. The purchase hasn't hit my points balance yet but I'm just wondering with these kind of promotions, how does the AMEX computer know its a BP purchase? In this case I purchased at BP (a huge one too) but the statement makes no mention.

Will be interesting to see if I get the points.

The likely reason it says AA S/STN is because it is a franchised BP, rather than a company owned one, and that is the company name of the franchisee. The merchant system will identify it as a service station, but won't necessarily identify it as a BP, unless Amex has a list of all franchisees.

I suspect this is a flaw in their system and you'll have to follow the points up. Franchisees may possibly be excluded from the bonus points too.

I used a local BP to see if my registration was ok and it posted on line as a P/L company ( thus a franchise ) but had no problem identifying it as a BP and received my 1.5 points PLUS the 5 bonus !

As QFF is my main points earning program again, I'll push what I can to BP until the end of the offer

It would appear as though MR have no idea what they're doing on this.

20 minutes on the phone to a most apologetic guy he cannot find anything.

Attempting to register for this promo online also fails.

He's now calling around people trying to fix it.

Has anyone registered for the other promos on there? There's 4-5 on the page that seem worthwhile (from Credit Cards - The Qantas American Express Card - American Express Australia)

Finally got it sorted. Apparently they're not geared up to do these usually (???). Also enrolled for a few others, which are in good time for Christmas!
