One con is that Vodaphone will carry through a credit check on your Equifax credit file.
For me, the benefits greatly outweight the negatives!

People need phones? Do credit providers seriously look negatively on someone with a phone?

Voda are extending finance to customers by giving them a phone that they pay off in installments. They do a credit check, otherwise you'd have insolvent teenagers ordering brand new iphones on 24 month contracts they can't afford.
Not much of a challenge for anyone else to pass the credit check, providing no bankruptcies or major defaults, but the credit check will lower your credit score (for a short period) and make it harder to get other finance such as Credit Cards.

What I don't get is how another credit provider would look at your credit report, see Vodafone, and somehow make a bazaar assessment on your creditworthiness based on that?
Sure if you default... but the simple enquiry on your file... i can't see it limiting your credit with any serious provider.
