I have booked the QT instead for my 5 night September stay. Includes breakfast and parking for $149 a night

Hi - At risk of being in the correct area but the wrong question, does 1 night at Surfers Hilton Hotel and the second night at Surfers Hilton residences qualify as two stays ? rgds Andrew

To the best of my knowledge.....no. They're the same hotel.

From personal experience, counts as two separate stays. I stayed one night at hotel, second at residences and both showed separately.

Well that's interesting. Even though they both showed separately, did you receive credits for 2 stays?

From reading this area the lounge is only in the hotel, not the residence though, is that correct. rgds andrew

If in the Residences, take the lift down to Ground, then walk about 30 metres +/- to the Hotel lifts, then up to the EL from there.

I'm not sure I'm the best to advise you, as I've only used the hotel for a few years now. There was talk at one point, of only hotel guests being permitted into the lounge. I personally, cannot confirm if this is the current rule or not. Hopefully others can be more definitive.

This is correct. I've been upgraded many times in the residences as a gold to 2 bedroom sky residences and 3 bedroom residences and I've been told each time at check in that I cannot access the lounge as I'm staying in the residences. I'm sure theres exceptions though, some of the top residences are going for a few thousand a night and I'm sure they would get it if they asked.

I'm probably going to steer away from offers through Travelzoo, after two stays at Hilton Brisbane earlier in the year were declined points or stay credit, even after submitting claims, as "ineligible rates", despite being booked through the links to Hilton website.

I've never used Travelzoo, but I tend to remember the need to log into the Hilton site and enter the Travelzoo code. I'm not sure if this is correct or if I'm confusing it with some other deal. Strictly speaking though, third party booking sites are supposed to be non-earning rates AFAIK.

Does anyone have any experience with reward night bookings at HSP?

I'm HH Gold and was wondering how people may have fared in the past in terms of status benefits/exec lounge upgrades etc. when booking on points and reward certificates

I've stayed here once on a regular booking and received nothing and I'm hoping it was a once off

Cheers

I'm not sure what you mean by "I've stayed here once on a regular booking and received nothing". Was the regular booking made through a Hilton portal or through a 3rd party (like Travelzoo....as we're in the Trazelzoo thread)? If through Hilton, you should get stay/night/points to your account. If through Travelzoo, than you may not (reports are varied). Usually a room upgrade is provided. Lounge is apparently not given to anyone in the residences, but is in the hotel under usual HH benefits for gold level (although this comment is still debateable I think). Breakfast is offered in salt, as complementary and often something extra in the room (ranges from beers to sparkling water to wine).

This should be the same for reward nights or paid nights (although I can't recall whether I've ever booked a reward night at HSP).
