You'd be better off getting 1400 SC's in your first year and then 1,200 for several years after that.

Your AAirpass included privileges start with an Admirals Club membership, and may end with a Concierge Key (depending upon how much AA likes you & how hard you negotiate).

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

If you can afford it, and it makes you happy, then go for it. Plenty of people spend $10k a year on a hobby.

Thanks QF029 :)

Not quite. I can get ~$2.00/SC.

If you are serious about doing this SC run then it is time you started doing some of the work researching YUPs/KUPs in the USA. I don't believe people are going to post their most favourite SCs runs as that is just asking for trouble. Too many have disappeared and some people believe it is not a coincidence.

Nothing wrong with giving ideas though. ;)

Hey JohnK ,

~$2.00/SC ------ Is it possible to achieve this on QF metal with some serious research ???

Seems like CL is much better.

CL Sure does look much better , on the other hand you never know what unpublished benefits high Yielding Ckey Members are getting from AA !!!! ;)

On QF? I would say close to impossible. If you can get $4.00/SC on QF then you have done well. There are only a few routes that yield that on QF anyway. The majority are much higher.

Best earn rate on QF metal I could see is upwards of $6.00/SC :( not so good , the only option for me I think is YUP / KUP ' in LOTFAP with AA !!

Is there an opportunity for me to get an earn rate close to $4~6.00/SC on LAN or something !!!

And was wondering that how many times a year does QF come out with Double SC Promos ?

AKL-SYD-AKL on LA earns 160SC for ~$610.

I just did a YUP MR that earned 630SC's for USD1200.;)

630SC for USD1200 very impressive ..... LOTFAP is the best place I guess "AA sure does value our loyalty"

Have been looking on QF today whole day .... Earn rates nothing better than $6.75/SC on QF Metal

I did hnl-dfw-stl-ord-jfk-mia-bgi-mia-msy-ord-las-lax recently. cost about 1800 bucks. earns 1000 SC on the dot.

Wow , That is and Earn rate of $1.8/SC. Can you please share what month did you do it ? Did you use a travel agent / airline website / travel website ? Anything else that can help my pursuit.

Thanks in advance.

I am a travel agent on the side, Not my main job though. I booked it myself in sabre. did it in October.

Did you issue the tickets yourself or ask another agent to do it for you , I am not sure if Sabre would allow me to sign up and make reservations on their system.

I mean I necessarily don't want the ticketing rights but , making reservation on sabre by myself would be a good thing , could save me a lot of money. :)

It costs money to have access to sabre, might be best to use an agent. our agency uses NTC (National Ticket Centre) to issue tickets booked on sabre.

If you need assistance with planning just PM me. If you go to an agent, be aware agents earn 0 commissions on AA domestic fares, and they will probably charge you some kind of fee, however it may be worth it as you can generate much more complicated status runs in sabre than the AA website can do.

Im happy to.

**Ex- Honolulu to the Caribbean on American instant upgrades are amongst the best runs.

** another nice one are Cathay Pacific business fares ex-Taipei. Especially to Manila, Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Denpasar. You can do a same day return ex-Taipei to Manila for about $450 and 200 sc's.

** Cathay business fares ex-Seoul are also quite good

** search for the fiji status run here on this forum for an interesting way to book a BNE-NAN flight via MEL and SYD on QF and FJ business.

There was a cheapie ex-SIN on Cathay to Bangkok via Hong Kong last year in biz, it was only temporarily available, it probably wont return but who knows! If it does it will probably be mentioned here.

Have fun

An addition there are various AA runs that work for people. The value of these seems to come and go a bit though.

On weekends that's awesome , but I hope that I get a few good runs exSIN , exHNL , exMEL - On QF the earn rate however is nothing better than $5.75/ SC that is still twice as expensive than doing YUP / KUP ex HNL. - exDFW - exSFO

You hope the specials will be back? This is the first time I have seen the ex-TPE specials disappear. But the writing has been on the walls for a while as the specials have been increasing consistently.

Not the weekend that just passed.

By the way the loads in business class have been quite low at the times I have travelled so not sure where the reported high loads are coming from....
