I got all my points with the 5K/10tx scheme. Just after 31st Jan.

So this is closed in my book but I hope all those that have been shortchanged succeed and give it to the man

Good luck

I was sorry, because my first approach to the CSR was to demand immediate payment instigated by posts I read in this thread. Later I understood that the process has been done according to the T&C .

You are either a poor reader....or understand poorly...or both....

because most of the advice on this forum was always that the T&C had stated that points would take upto 8-10 weeks to post.

As to all paid points being paid by end of Dec.

The promo ran till Dec 31 inclusive. Therefore many would have had qualifing points accrue on Dec 31. I know that I did.

First of all... my mistake, I received all my Sep-Oct points by the end od Dec 2008 and all my Nov-Dec points by the end of January 2009. I know .... According to the T&C points could take up to 10 weeks, but Amex posted my points ahead of the expected 10weeks AMEX THANK YOU VERY MUCH :D.

Now back to you... People must be blind to not see all those many post saying: I am taking Amex to FOS, to court, A current affair, etc... if they dont pay all my points by the end of: this week, this month, December, january... that kind of talk really missleaded other members. Amex is paying and has paid already many card holders rewards of many $1000s FOR FREE, in a never seen before promotion... At least give them the time to weed all those who tried to abuse the promo. I am telling you, with a generous promotion like this not everyone played straight. Some will be left with a bitter taste after been refuse their reward due to abuse.

Those who received Sep-Nov points but not Dec or not Full Dec points should wait until mid March to worry (That is 10 weeks). Those who were sent the (you are suspended letter) and have dodgy transaction, should start getting used to the Idea of getting no points at all.

If you got your transaction in the right way then NO WORRIES MATE :D

Glad to see you admitted your mistake.

Once again you are wrong. Blindness has nothing to do with it as the posts you claim are mine do not exist as wrote no such thing.

I never contacted FOS. I certainly did not say I would involve ACA.

What I have posted in the past is that I would follow due process and would only contact FOS if Amex did not abide by the T&C of their own promotion.

Also as per the FOS advice on the website my advice to others, and what is stated on the FOS website, that the first course of action was to contact Amex itself.

FOS to only be involved if a "dispute" then developed between Amex and I.

Amex wrote to me three times.

1/ To confirm that I was in the promo.

2/ To indicate that I had been suspended as I had tx which may be suspicious (without saying which tx) and extending an invitation to me to justify my tx.

I wrote a detailed reply back demonstrating that my spend was genuine in a similar manner to another forumite (who also had their supension overturned....for their many tx in a day to a telecommunications company were all in fact genuine seperate bills).

3/ To indicate that they had investigated my reply and my spend and that all tx were legitimate and that all my bonus points would be paid.

Now Amex were slow in replying and exceeded their own 30 day maximum, but I allowed them a bit of leeway for Xmas...and then called them to be told a letter was on it's way.

I had stated that if the letter was negative that I would then escalate to FOS. But it was not...so I did not.

So RodgerBranch once gain you have made a missleading post and inaccurate post.

I guess you understood what you wanted to understand from my last post. I was not refering to you as the person posting those messages. I was talking in general about the many threatening messages in this thread about FOS, ACC, DOCEP, etc...

I dont really know if ou have ever post here one of those messages. But I am telling you, within the near 5000 messages in his thread there are too many messages containing that kind of sugestions. Those negative and agresive posts made me angry at Amex without reason at all.

In reality: The people who did the right thing during the promo have little to worry. Those who abused the promo will get nothing no matter how much noise they make. 10 weeks from the end of Dec is the 12th of March. Need your Dec points earlier? tough luck... Amex is giving 1000s of dollars for free to pretty much every player in this promo, so just wait your turn.

Amex is probably putting the very suspicious cases in quarentine, and will deal with them later. If those cases can not prove they did the right thing all the way through the promo then they will get nothing.

Guys - please obey the "no feeding" signs. It's just not worth it.

I have said this a few times though beardoc - one of the reasons for feeding is to counter some of the minsinformation that the troll has continued to spread.

Personally I had a very successful outcome after referring the matter to the FSO and Amex referred to the FSO in their response to me.

Looks like this saga is coming to an end for me.

Signed up for all three promotions before Sep19, did not ring to cancel.
Got POC'ed.
Got letter from Amex about being on 5K/10T.
Got some points end Dec, and end Jan.
Wrote to Amex 4 weeks ago re wanting to be on 5K/5T. Did not hear from them.
Received big lump of points a couple of days ago, which roughly covered all owing points based on 5K/5T. (Maybe short by 10K which I can overlook).
Very happy about that, thought I would have needed to go through FSO.

just got posted a bunch of points for december, i haven't tallied everything up, but it's in the ballpark of what i should've received.

thanks for all those trailblazers leading the path with bfso and amex, once the initial ones were paid out with points, i wasn't concerned about amex delivering.

Now i just need to work out what to do with the points! :D

The paranoia in this thread is deafening.

Thanks to all the useless banter and misinformation about Amex call centre staff saying this and that and the other I am now looking at my MR account at least twice a day to make sure that my MR points have not been taken away.

Enough of the speculation on what may or may not happen or poor defenseless spoilt kids missing their annual holiday to Disneyland as their father did not receive the bonus points in time to transfer to Velocity or all award seats have now disappeared or what criteria Amex had used or will use at any point in time during the promotion or at the end of the promotion.

Please remember that paranoia is contagious. Perhaps I should stop reading this thread so my life can return to normal....

Oh, come on, John, the paranoia is all part of the fun!

Hi All,

Today I finally received a letter from Amex (still haven't heard back from BFSO). The letter is dated from nearly two weeks ago but seems more personal than the other one. It explains that the promo was targetted and that "for a limited period, Cardmembers who were not invited could also register but their enrolment was limited to the MYBONUS offer"..."As advised (in the previous letter), any Bonus Points that you are entitled to receive in this promotion will be calculated from the time of enrollment based on the MYBONUS offer."... "this decision follows a comprehensive review" etc

Any advice on a next step?

Also, I know of others on here who in substantially similar circumstances have been placed back on MYREWARD. Do you think this will set some sort of precedent? I thought for sure it would, but then I received this letter... Perhaps I need to chase up the BFSO further?

simongr,

Sorry to be pedantic but shouldn't your post read "one of the reasons for feeding is to counter some of the minsinformation that the trolls continued to spread." :?:

Good point straitman. I have reached the point that I am unsure who is spreading disinformation, causing havoc and who is trying to help.

This is very similar to the situation I was in back in October. I challenged Amex (registered post), got no reply, contacted FOS, got a call from Amex with an offer to pay on 5/5 and received the points around 3 Feb.

My advice would be to go through FOS. I was able to provide screen shots showing that this was a publicly available offer and I had T&C at that time showing no restrictions on entry. I would not want to say this was a precedent though and your circumstances may be different.

1. Stop feeding JohnK's paranoia:shock:

2. look at what the successful people posted.

Cheers guys. I have been following this thread very closely and from what I can gather circumstances are identical to simongr's, right down to the evidence that it was publicly available.I will continue to follow up with the FSO and hope that changes things. Maybe they will listen to them more than they listen to me.... I'll keep you posted.

Vet, my issue is that I have been following the apparrent best course of action (and no, I won't contact legal-aid over this!). I sent two letters a month apart by registered post, presented evidence (and not a screenshot posted by someone else) that the offer was public, have contacted the FSO and have a case number and yet (so far) have been rejected.

Still, I've banked several hundered thousand points already from this promo so I'm in no real hurry.
