Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

T&C on my postcard is 10 Sep.
indeed 10th Sept is the only date I have seen as the starting point in any written/printed/published documents from Amex. There is no mention of "from registration date" or "from the date you sign up".
Amex Promo Terms and Conditions said:
1. In order to qualify for the 5,000 Membership Rewards Bonus Points promotion, you must register with American Express between 10 September 2008 and 31 December 2008 for the promotion. Once registered, the total transactions on your American Express Card must exceed 4 transactions in any given month between 10 September 2008 and 31 December 2008. There is no limit to the Bonus Points you can earn each month. Transaction count resets to zero at the beginning of each month. Please allow 8-10 weeks for Bonus Points to be credited to your account. All American Express Corporate Cards and David Jones American Express Cards are excluded
from this promotion.
So it depends on the interpretation of the term "Once registered" and if it applies to transactions or to the bonus.

You could in fact just post once a week, saying the same thing "I have not got my points yet and am not happy", which would be what your last 2 months worth of posts have said, merely couched in different terms and using different wording.

You mean like your once a week I hate whingers post???..of which this is another.

And what a hypocrite. You complain about a post of mine which was clearly a "discussion" post....and then post a "discussion" post of your own complete with no facts. Hypocrite. You are obviously a do what I say..and not a do what I do type of guy.

You seem to have failed to notice that this a forum. A forum is not just a place to post facts..but is a centre for discussion, conversation and debate.

Some posters may also crack a joke or two from time to time...and jokes are not facts either.

This thread in particular has evolved intoa discussion thread and sounding board.

If you do not like do not read it. I am sure that you can find some fact sites somewhere if that is what pushes your buttons.

"If Amex were playing straight then 99% of people would have been paid the points within 10 weeks as per T&C."

So how do you know that is the %?? I assume you are using the people on this particular board to come up with that figure, or do you have information straight from Amex?

.

err cough cough.

You assume wrongly..and are off on some tangent.

The 99% was MY ALLOWANCE for Amex holding some back due to error, or suspected fraud, abuse etc or other genuine glitches that may occur.

With few T&C on spend and witha no minimum spend provision in place (which has been given as the reason fora number of suspensions) it is my belief that the vast majority of cardmembers will have made valid tx.. Sure there will be a few that have had many mutiples of bill-splitting, but I doubt that % wise there would be many.

My point that you seem incapable of following is that Amex if it was abiding by the letter of the T&C should have paid out points within 10 weeks of them being earned, but has chosen not do so.

I do not accept Amexes claims that the delay is due to "Technical Issues".

Ring them up..they will tell you it is. Is that a fact then??????

Amex's problem with this promo is in my opinion that people have used it...Amexes problem will not be in the vast majority of cases that people have abused it.

For all you know, most Amex customers may well have recieved their points. Your post is just another example of how many posts on this thread are full of guesswork and wild assumptions, which help nobody.

Does anyone know of a person who has NOT posted on this forum, who has received their FULL allocation of bonus points.

I don't and I doubt if anyone else has.

All points have been paid

Well, I have been keeping an eye on this post for a while. Mainly because I love to read the “I AM GOING TO TAKE YOU TO COURT IF YOU DON’T PAY MY POINTS” messages LOL

As Borsa said, according to the CSR I spoke last: many people have already collected all their points (including me). You can see mine here

Congratulations on your lottery win Rodger. There is no need to be arrogant about it though....

Oh Well,

I am all over and done with this promo. I made near #$%#^%$#%^$# POINTS and I am laughing.
Points posted randomly and didn’t make any sense until the beginning of the 2nd week of October. I waited patiently until the 31st of Dec when I received the other 400+K the owed me for Sep PLUS 500+K for October. January brought the remaining 800+K points. Now I am on my way to Disneyland LOL (with all the family). I didn't get POC or suspended.

I feel great… probably no need to read your FF posts any more. Then again I may just keep an eye, because some of you guys make me laugh so much… I love those threat/begging/prayer posts you write, with the hope that a CSR will read it and feel pity of you.

What a waste. 1.9 Million Points straight into QFF, if it's actually true... Still I doubt that this is the highest amount that went out of Membership Rewards.

Could have gone into Krisflyer or SPG, where it would almost make ~780k AA.

*edit* Images inlined for those of us unable to see the fake page

For those of us unable to see the fake page - can some advise the dates that are claimed? I am thinking of using this as a mock up to send to Amex tell them what they owe me ;)

Interestingly the point of contact in Executive Customer relations is on vacation until 23 Feb according to his voicemail...

Futuris, the attachments have been edited, i.e. are bogus.

Plus, just look at the transactions, 17 transactions in 8 days... if using that as an average you would only earn approx 60,000 to 70,000 points per month

That's a good idea :D Would save me a lot of time...

On a more serious note, the number of posts and the duration of the posting indicates more than a couple of disaffected people. I finally rang the Financial Ombudsman Service yesterday, and as soon as I mentioned American Express the lady responded "is it regarding the Myrewards program?". They've obviously been getting a lot of complaints, and the response was that there was definitely grounds to lodge a dispute. So, seeing that others are in the same situation and getting suggestions on how to respond is useful to me - I wouldn't bother viewing this thread otherwise...

Re: Oh Mate I Am Sure You Did See It .... Lol

OH MATE I AM SURE YOU DID SEE IT .... LOL :D

I Would pay to see your face right now ;) pay with points ofcourse

This is the page promo

.. So tell me, when did you get your level II certificate in MS Paint?? I'll give you a hint for next time, at least try and make it look real...

FYI, in relation to the bogus points waffle that Rodger is carrying on about.

In the edited attachment it states "QANTAS FREQUENT FLYER POINT TRANSFER" (In cap's)

The only text I have seen from Amex is as follows (copy/paste from my MR account)

12/01/2009 Qantas Point Transfer -85,500 0 -85,500

Plus after downloading the attachments the image has an extra layer to it, i.e. something added to the background...

Also, only 17 transactions in 8 eligible days, that averages out to be 60,000-70,000 bonus points per month if on the 5/5 promo

Nice try Mr Branch

How amusing. I have advocated all along not to get lawyers involved but obvioulsy that has been ignored.

I just rang Amex as I checked my account and my points have still not been transferred. Apparently their IT department is experiencing 'technical issues' preventing the transfer of points across. I was told this was an "across the board" issue affecting all users expecting their points and should be resolved in 1-2 days.....hmmmmmmm

This thread is deteriorating into personal abuse. This is unacceptable, especially from some of the more senior members of the community.

This post serves as a reminder that personal attacks on fellow members will not be tolerated. Such offending posts will be removed and may result in forum membership
suspension.

I will go through recent posts and edit/remove as necessary.

I wonder why rodgerbranch modified his wiki:

Author: rodger9876 Created: 19 - hours ago Version: 1.8 Last Edited By: rodger9876 Modified: 4 - minutes ago

NB, I'm not insulting anyone, just quoting what was said for posterity.

Re: All points have been paid

Nice to see you can make up fake MR pages.. I didn't realise AMEX had changed their colour scheme either.

Seriously Rodgerbranch, go troll somewhere else.

The colour scheme is correct for cards such as the Ultimate card.

On the other hand, the fact that every single page indicates it is showing transactions 1-20 is more suspect :)
