    Jetstar booking issue?

On the Jetstar manage booking page, there is this ominous message: Important - there are things we need to sort out on your booking. Please go to contact us. Is this really as important as it sounds? I already flew the first leg without issue (it’s an international itinerary). It’s a points...

Best bassinet seat in Y? (international flights)

Has anyone worked out where would be the bassinet seat when flying with an infant? Obviously, the baby couldn't tell me which one she prefers. Using adult thinking, the ones right at the front would be nice and quiet (while ignoring all the WPs moaning), but the "noisy" part at the back is...

    A388 to HKG for CNY

Just noticed that the a 388 has been scheduled during the CNY period (end of Jan) for the QF127/128 rotation. It also looks like they are not selling F tickets, so I'm not sure what they will be doing with those empty seats at the front. ;)

QF Fare Rules for Multiple Fare Types

Probably a silly question, but if I purchase a QF return fare where, e.g. one leg is for Y Saver and the other leg is Y Flex, does the fare rules apply for each leg or does the most restrictive fare rules apply for the entire itinerary? I know it's the latter for most airlines, although I'm not...

Newbie Question on VA Status Earnings

I guess it's a little bit hard to call myself a newbie, although I've spent all of my time in the QF section - until now. Anyway, life is changing, and instead of running in and between Australia and Asia, it looks like I'll soon be heading for more pastures rather than more tarmacs. Flying...

    Question on JAL accrual rate

Would anyone know how to work out which accrual rate when booking a JAL international ticket with a domestic connection? (e.g. SIN-HND-ITM)? The Qantas website only uses F, J, and Y as booking codes listed for the dom flights, so not exactly helpful, it seems.

    Transit at DPS?

Are there any transit facilities in DPS for JQ flights? Or would the pax need to go through customs? Thinking of perhaps hoping on JQ117 SIN-DPS, then one of the flameliners down to AU. Roughly 2 hour transit time, so probably not a good idea if I need to go through customs (despite not needing...

What is your intention in relation to your QFF membership?

Someone suggested a poll in the other thread, so I thought I would have a go. What is your intention regarding your QFF membership given the latest changes? Staying or leaving? And to avoid those who just come in and vote they're leaving, the poll is public.

    Qf4017/4018

Just saw this in fine print on the Qantas website: QF4017/4018 between Haneda and Singapore are subject to Government and regulatory approval. It's a codeshare on JL metal - not too sure how I should be reading into this? The codeshare begins in April.

    Question on Codeshares Points/Status Earnings

If I am to take a flight with a MH code, operated by JL, which earn table should I be using?

    How would you run Qantas?

Let's say, somehow, you took over Alan Joyce's job effective immediately, how would you run the airline? Remember that: 1. The airline is currently cashflow negative, and has just (or is losing) its investment grade credit rating, resulting in higher interest rates payable and less favourable...

    Jetstar Asia Updates F&B Menu

Not sure if anyone actually cares about this, but 3K has updated its F&B offerings. Coca-Cola products has replaced Pepsi for general non-alcoholic beverages, and if you order a bottle of water, you'll now get a 600ml bottle rather than the previously offered 300ml midget. Food choices are...

    Qantas Car Hire

I've been running a few searches lately, and it seems that booking a car through QF's website for SYD airport is quite a lot cheaper than any other sources, even if I use the same discount codes at the car suppliers' own websites. Is the price quoted by QF the full price? Are there any catches...

DL or CX SIN-NYC in Y?

Looks like I'm going to have a bit of a torture, needing to get myself SIN-NYC and back in a week in a couple of months time. Obviously, CX should have a better product, but the price differences seem very large. CX: $2331.30 SGD (class V) - probably go for the 1:1 points with AM rather than...

    Quickest Ever Points/Status Post

Having just logged into my account a little while ago, I noted that points/status have already been posted for my international flight which landed merely 90mins before. Would this be a record? Or have there been ever quicker posts?

Duty-free Alcohol on Multiple Domestic Connections?

I'm planning to get a bottle from SIN duty free, but that would mean I'll have to take it onto my fully domestic status run. I'm not sure what the exact rules are these days for liquids on domestic flights, but would I get my bottle confiscated?

How do you choose your bottle of wine in duty free?

Duty free shops are certainly good places to get some wine, but with so many varieties in so many different airports, how would you choose your wine? Obviously, it is not possible to taste test them in most locations, so there's only the price tag and the label to go by - and for most mere...

Need to Bribe Pax to Take QFF Points/Status and Lounge Access? Jetstar Thinks So.

Apparently, Jetstar believes that QFF points/status and lounge access are so worthless to the point that they are giving you $150 SGD just to make you take them...

Throwing away the last sector of a JASA?

As weird as it might sound, I'm thinking about throwing away the last segment of a JASA. Needing to do MEL-SYD with most of the day free to do it, I've decided to do MEL-xSYD-ASP-SYD. If it is booked as such, it's 60,000 points plus $153.49. However, if I book it as MEL-xSYD-ASP-xSYD-MEL, it...

FF Points/Miles Calculations When Plane Crashes

I guess this is probably one of the weirdest topic here, but it just came to my mind... how are ff points calculated if, God forbids, the plane crashes? Does the pax receive the full points entitlement, receive nothing, or get given points based on the distances the plane actually flew (say...
