Looks like I'm going to have a bit of a torture, needing to get myself SIN-NYC and back in a week in a couple of months time.

Obviously, CX should have a better product, but the price differences seem very large.
CX: $2331.30 SGD (class V) - probably go for the 1:1 points with AM rather than 0.5 with QF.
DL: $1686 SGD (class T) - will send the points to DJ @ a rate of 0.5, although I never fly with them.

Currently a OW sapphire, but never been on DL so not sure what it's like. It is so bad that it's worth paying $650 for CX?

Note that lounge access isn't an issue, since I have the priority pass which can be used at all ports which I'll pass through.

Not really considering other airlines at this stage (unless they go nuts on specials).

Any suggestions/comments would be great, especially regarding the DL Y product.

If you don't require the SC, give DL a try for such a huge difference given you'll have lounge anyway. Not sure what the IFE is like so do you have your own if need be? e.g. if no PTVs

Cheers. I should end the year with around 1500 SCs this year without this flight so definitely no need for them apart from adding to the life time tally. I rarely use PTV either, so looks like DL might be the way to go... and spend the savings on a Michelin star meal?

Early Oct. CX now has some $16xx fares, but the schedules don't suit me. :(
