Help pleaseAnyone else having trouble getting through to Qantas today

Have you tried contacting the number they provide for Italy? Might have the same issue, but worth a shot. From: https://www.qantas.com/it/en/support/contact-us.html

I don't know the answer to most Qantas "security" questions!

I had that message pop up earlier this year. The fix was ultimately to remove all my contact details and add them back in. It was preventing me registering for the DSC offer at the time.

New TRS rules? Goods no longer included in cap?

I know someone who was recently told TRS wasn't available for Australians (and hence the Tourist in TRS). Required getting the supervisor over to have the person processing the claim told that was wrong (pretty unbelievable, and says a lot about ABF that they could have been sitting there doing...

Malaysia Digital Arrival Card and Autogates

Interesting that you had success with this @serfty. I tried this in April - I did the MDAC before flying, and asked at the usual manual immigration counter if they could register me. But the officer wasn't interested in dealing with it (can't remember if he said he couldn't, or just fobbed me...

Qantas to Introduce Group Boarding and Bag Tracking

What a great move to have non-priority group numbers look like seat numbers! 🤦‍♂️

Why the difference in choosing a seat?

This is what I see as a WP at the moment: vs ExpertFlyer So it's not just the straight status level affecting the seat choice. Ok, who knows, the 5 available seats as a WP was only because the account wasn't logged in. Curious what the reason is for @NamarrgonFlyer seeing two different (but...

Why the difference in choosing a seat?

Presumably you're being scored differently despite having the same status level. Looking at the seat map on expertflyer, it seems you're being restricted from selecting a seat next to anyone, while your SO has access to those seats, as well as rows 21 and beyond. If you want to sit together, you...

    Is toothpaste a LAG?

I've found toothpaste tabs/tablets a nice alternative to toothpaste. They become like toothpaste once you chew on them. I also travel with a solid deodorant in my carry-on. Now I don't have to bother taking any LAGs out at security.

Qantas app and website login broken?

I've been having the same issue with the Android app (trips don't show), for a number of months. There was a period of a few weeks recently where it worked, after an update. But then there was an update about a week ago after which it broke again. It's quite annoying, as it was a nice way to...

Points / status crediting from oneworld and Qantas - issues?

If you have boarding passes, the best thing is to just email frequent_flyer at qantas.com and include the flight details and boarding pass scan/screenshot. I had one flight missing from an AU-SIN-HEL-LHR trip, and despite being knocked back twice using the online form, once I emailed, it was...

Article: Europe Doesn’t Recognise Australian Vaccination Certificates

I notice the TAP website claims Portugal now accepts Australian certificates: Alerts and informations But would be nice if the visitportugal website listed that. Perhaps it will be updated soon.

[Cancelled] SIN lounge crawl 25 September 2021

I've done this before without any issues. Checked in at T4, then went airside and took the bus over to T2 (now T3), and tried out the Qantas First Lounge. That said, there could be issues with turning up too early, as would be the case here. Having said all that, Cathay is currently operating...

Qantas Website won't let you pay!

I don't believe it's conditional on it being a QF 081 ticket. It's certainly worked in the past when ticketed by others (AY for one). QF code booked and QF metal are the requirements.

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

The biggest features of Premier are Global View (Seeing all your accounts from the one internet banking - you still need to go to the other country's site to do anything other than see balances though, but the login is simplified if going from one to the other), and free (and instant) Global...

Claiming GST TRS travelling on QF9

If the scheme wasn't available to Australians, it would remove an incentive to buy from an Australian retailer before travelling, vs buying when overseas. As it stands, no GST is collected, but at least the Australian retailer/distributor/etc. get the benefit of the purchase.

[Cancelled] SIN lounge crawl 7 June 2020

Oh whoops, I just realised the (bit of a) status run I booked with the AY HKG-LHR fare has me in London when this lounge crawl is on. Next time!

[Cancelled] SIN lounge crawl 7 June 2020

Just realised this would make a great SC run for the start of my year. Will depend on whether I can get some cheap (probably MH) J flights from HKG to make a weekend of it. $7/SC isn't terrible, but hopefully something better will come up. Anyone else coming from HKG?

Qantas Premium Entry at Brisbane Domestic

Is it just me, or at some point in the last year did they replace the x-ray machine where everything went through on a tray (and the trays are automatically sent back), with an older style x-ray machine? I quite liked the new one. Unlike the ones with multiple stations to empty your belongings...

Qantas Hong Kong - Missing iPad

As of iOS 13 Apple devices can use Bluetooth to talk to other nearby Apple devices which eventually results in the owner being able to locate the device. There's info on the Apple site.

    That was quick (points/sc)

When the new system was introduced not that long ago, I had a flight credit while I was in the lounge. It's definitely much faster than it used to be.
