Demise of the hot towel and the lavatory hand towels

In what way?

Hi Robbi,

Am guessing what lovestotravel is referring to is this thread has had more than 4500 views, and a significant number of postings. Yesterday I travelled four sectors no hot towels, which again points to the lack of consistency. I am thinking there may be no clear directive. As another poster had suggested, if there was an approachable CSM, why not ask. With no hot towels served yesterday, I was reluctant to ask.

I am thinking it may be at the discretion, deemed practically, of service. Just as is addressing one by name?

My two cents worth....

Just flown tonight J BNE-MEL no hot towel service, but cloth hand towels in the toilets.

In what way?

The surprise that a CSM said the towels are coming back because of the negative feedback, who would have guessed that...

Also Red Roo not posting in this thread

I have said it before but if you are going to participate in social media you have to respond to both the good and bad questions and not just the easy ones.

i might add that my last 4 sectors in J had the proper hand towels in the lav's despite the no hot towels during service

It really would be nice if we could get some feedback from RedRoo on this sort of topic. It would put it to rest one way or the other rather that letting us go on with posts that do nothing.

In fact the said redroo has been fairly quiet lately, aside from a few congratulatory remarks.

WHAT? I thought PER was the 'flagship' route with the international standards of service

Nope

Sloppy slow service - the meal service the other day took the whole duration of the flight.

Use to get a lot of international crew working these flights, but now with the reduction of international flights ex Per, last 4 flights have all been domestic crew.

oh don't worry the international crew take about 3 hours to serve dinner on international flights too

13 Jan QF580 Per-Syd Hot towel

17 Jan QF569 Syd-Per NO hot towels + NO menu's

Now that you mention it, I have flown 8 legs in J recently and not once seen a menu.

Did a return ADL-xBNE-TSV run on 12 Jan, all flights except the ADL-BNE offered hot towels, and all bathrooms had towels.

No hot towels on SYD-ADL on Saturday but they were in the bathroom.

I'm about to fly back to SYD so will see if this has it (not holding my breath).

hot towels are not removed off of PER transcon flights and QF8 being an international standard service would also keep them on BNE-SYD.

they are well and truly gone from domestic otherwise. Not had any in 8 domestic j flights in past one week. I've mentioned this before but BAILEYS is also going other than PER and Intl

PER to ADL last friday, no hot towel to be seen but menu and great service was provided

I was told that yesterday too on a 767 service Brisbane to Sydney.. also as a point of reference, in 10 sectors over the last 3 days it was only the BNE-PER and PER-BNE sectors that had hot towels in J
