I'm just not a fan of the colour scheme they have going on. Too much gold for me. I think it could be a very beautiful lounge if they just toned things down a bit, though I suppose fat chance of that ever happening.

Arrrh, I was there only a week ago, still the best lounge at Tulla. 0945 hrs flight Friday night, lounge was full, not a seat to be had in the inn. But I was OK.

You clearly haven't been into the QF F Lounge at MEL then because it coughs all over that.

Depends on what access you have, however at a number of airports I would agree the EK lounge is the best of all the J lounges, BNE and SIN included in that list, simply because of the lack of crowds and good views, not to mention better drinks (to help you get over the color scheme which grows on you - in proportion to drink consumption).

Thank you Markis, I have never been in the F lounge. Never had that much money to spend, and never enough point. But where are your pictures so we can compare???

I don't disagree with the sentiment of your post. I'm sure on many occasions (level of access etc.) the EK lounges are by far the best option. I was simply addressing the blanket statement in the post that the EK lounge was ''the best at Tulla'' - IMHO this is far from the truth.

Best Business lounge would be a fair call though.

No!! Still Like Mel EK J lounge. Though EK J lounge in Istanbul was good, great food, excellent service.

I'm not fully up with the QF/EK deal particulars.

If I'm on the QF MEL-SIN in J (SG), am I stuck in the QP or can I use the EK lounge?

Nice pics, it looks very similar to the EK BKK lounge - the only EK one I have been in, are all EK lounges of a similar design wherever you go?

Why do people prefer the EK over the QF J Lounge at MEL. The QF F Lounge is closed for my departure next week and I was inclined to use the QF Lounge.

My analysis of anecdotes (having only used the J lounge once since it absorbed the old F Lounge space [in 2011]) is that as far as catering goes, QF J < EK < QF F.

You can use both. I don't know the opening hours of the EK lounge but of course it would need to be open to use it.

Thanks. I thought QF now offered waiter served meals randomly in the J Lounges?

So I have read - whether that's better than the buffet in the EK lounge I can't say from personal experience but it would need to be rather good.
