THanks for the pics. Have you tried the new QF lounge would love to get a comparison.

No comparison, more drinks choices, more food choices, better view, in the QF lounge as I post, although the chef prepared dishes are good.

Being an EK Gold member, I do find this to be rather vulgar.

I'm going to get sick of those yellow wagyu beef noodles in the QF SIN lounge quickly. I've just had a bowl and its pretty heavy on the stomach

Interesting ...

While I am of the opinion that if such photos when taken are done discreetly and these certainly seem so (not one single person to be seenin the EK lounge images), there is nothing vulgar in doing so.

It little different to the myriad of photos I have seen of the QF First lounges.

That's a bottle of veuve in the EK lounge? Being lazy, but a quick scroll through the QF SIN lounge didn't seem to have a menu (can anyone link?)- any French champers on offer in there? Could be a deciding factor for me!

edit- just saw the latest comments in the QF sin thread. Ek lounge could be the way to go.

The furniture and layout looks similar to other EK lounges, also the booze selection appears identical. I would think the food choices would vary with location.

The EK lounges are all very good, with the exception of the huge bunfight at DXB.

I am looking forward to trying the New QF Lounge with Mrs Ansett on 20 May but suspect we may well end up in the EK lounge specially given the views. I have been into the EK lounge a number of times during the lounge revamp and have become rather fond of it with its great views and variety of food.

Just got back from sampling both QF and EK lounges. I'm inclined to agree here.

EK was also much quieter, given the self-important riff raff didn't realize they could choose. Plus it was hidden away, unlike the QF lounge which has fishbowl views in from a food court.

I do think the wine range and quality of food is better at QF, but will happily pick steamed dumplings and Moët in the EK lounge in future.

So to confirm - you can access the EK lounge when flying QF (just as you could access the CX lounge likewise)?

I'll check it out on Wed.

The food is very good in the EK lounge, but the decor is atrocious and the showers ( I think there are two in the ladies toilets) are the size of a postage stamp with cheap nasty shower gel.
It's definitely quieter than the former QF lounge but given the pics of the new
lounge ( I haven't been yet) and the food on offer ( tasted some at the QF Tweet and Eat), I think I would prefer to spend a short transit at QF.

Overwhelming impression after a visit a few weeks ago - Caramel Morgue.....with a nice view.

Definitely.

I sampled both.

I didn't use the showers at either. had to lol at the "caramel morgue" comment (all EK lounges I've been in so far have looked the same though.)

The furniture looks disgusting and the lounge looks old!

Happy to try both later this year, but I think I'll go to the EK lounge for the food/champagne and then the QF lounge for a shower/new fitout!

The BA lounge has also upped its standard since Qantas got turfed. Food is better than it was and so is the wine. Food in the new Qantas lounge is a bit sucky. I had undefrosted Salmon and the gluggy noodle thing and tried some of the self serve stuff. Under-seasoned! And no Cheese! Another big problem in the new Qantas lounge is the lack of power sockets. I have more in my apartment than in the entire (enormous) lounge. That's pretty inexcusable in a new lounge. I went there for an hour and then hopped into the BA first (chillii crab dip and also cheese). Next time will try the EK

Bubbles in QF was Salinger from memory. They have a Margaret River Chardy which is bearable but the pick of the bunch is a NZ Pinot Noir

I counted around seventy last night before I stopped, why would anyone want that many in their apartment? They are under all the tables that have lounge chairs and under the single side table locations as well:

They are rare in the eating areas, that makes sense.
