AAdvantage Elite Status

Free AA Gold, and 10 500 mile certs

Simply enroll for this exclusive offer by September 27th, 2013 at http://www.aa.com/goldoffer using promotion code HVDGR. You'll be eligible for all the benefits our AAdvantage Gold members enjoy, including:

25% mileage bonuses on flights
Priority Access at check-in and boarding
Two free checked bags
Complimentary access to Preferred Seats
Special upgrade privileges

Don't forget, as an added bonus, we're giving you 10 500-mile upgrades just for registering!

How about extending your AAdvantage Gold status through February 28, 2015?

Start flying and earn 4,500 elite-qualifying miles or points on American and other select airlines between October 1, 2013, and December 31, 2013, to retain your elite benefits.

You only need to register once for your offer which includes: your upgrade to Gold status, 10 500-mile upgrades and the opportunity to keep your Gold status through February 2015.

This is an exclusive offer only for members who received a letter directly from American Airlines.
Targetted offer so YMMV!

Works for me too. That said, I wonder how long it will take to update my status.

Do need to fly 4,500 EQM/EQP to keep the Gold status, and that must be completed before the end of the year. I'm not too worried though because AA Gold is only oneworld Ruby, which I'll automatically have next year after dropping to QF Silver. Unless dropping status means the 500-mile upgrades become useless.

EDIT: For those who are not so trigger happy (or want to try anyway), here's a similar but better offer: AAdvantage Elite Status

Different promo code, more 500-milers.

History, as described on FT, suggests that AA have a pretty <poor> promo system, and those who were not targeted may see a confirmation page but may not have their participation honoured. To what degree you can fight this is debatable.

I'm not seeing the status upgrade on the account, but I was able to select exit rows for a flight I have in December (which I couldn't previously due to no status) so it may just be taking some time to flow through the system.

Two from my family got a positive response to this but last try said "code has already been used" so no luck.

Successful registration here, too

But what extra perk(s) can I expect being QF WP already ?

Sometimes, I ask "what's the point?" as they both belong to OW.

Depends if you credit to AA your QF flights with the extra bonus.

I hear you, markis10

Say I credit all post-WP SCs / miles to AA.

Best I could hope for is AA EXP... which is ... WP equivalent !

Not like I am crediting to *A networks or VA

Am I missing something here ?

Off topic, sorry

Your missing the earn and burn rates being a lot better with AA.

HVDPR for platinum. looks essentially like a free gold/platinum challenge but slightly easier to attain. Hopefully the platinum offer works for me as I am planning to pay for platinum challenge before year end.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

You can cover the 9000 mile requirement with 2 return per-mel? anyone crunched how easy is it to meet it?

Seems like a pretty easy way to get lounge access!

For Platinum, yes, due to oneworld Sapphire. Do note though that AA Platinum on wholly North American itineraries do not get lounge access.

Note the QF earn table: American Airlines oneworld Partner

At the Discount Economy rate, you'll need twice as many trips.

Yes, eqv to QF gold/Ow sapphire. Just Can't use it for deathstar

Huh?!

AAdvantage Gold is oneworld Ruby, the same for QF PS.

So no lounge access.

The base perks are free seat selection on QF and premium seat selection on AA flights.

Also, crediting that 439 mile O class fare on QF to Advantage will earn the minimum 500 miles rather than 110 (with a related boost to EQM's IIRC).
