Butter matters [Danish Lurpak on board]

Hard butter which it is not possible to spread annoys me NEARLY as much as the person next to me who cuts their bread roll rather than breaking it. What has happened to etiquette? LOL.

+1. And some people actually butter the whole thing before taking a bite, instead of buttering each small piece as they go

It is just appalling and I think QF must take immediate steps to stamp these bad buttering practices out amongst their premium pax and FFers and return them to proper etiquette, otherwise I cannot see why this topic is even in this sub-forum at all :p

I can confirm that Qantas are serving Lurpak butter on selected routes as part of changes introduced to improve our range of product offerings.

While much locally grown and manufactured produce is served onboard, Qantas have always worked closely with Australia's most respected providores and winemakers in creating an inflight dining experience to match our customer’s increasingly sophisticated palates and expectations.

Many of you already know that Lurpak is the world's biggest selling brand of butter, and is currently being used on many leading, international carriers. Qantas would never compromise on quality, and feel that this variation in product has a positive contribution to other Australian industries including employment, transport and logistics.

However your concerns and comments have been noted as such matters are always internally reviewed to incorporate our customer's values and preferences.

Red Roo could you make sure Lurpak is served in F please! I fear it may be a local brand of some kind. (Don't worry about my palette, it is about as sophisticated as the rest of me. :p)

Over 100 posts about butter... this is peak AFF.

Have you seen the thread about the conspiracy theory behind Qantas reducing the number of crackers? Food and Wine/Alcohol tend to get some interest....

This thread has gotten me hankering for a warm roll with some Lurpak butter to be honest!

I for one love the Lurpak butter, just can't beat the taste!

FWIW, we have been a "Lurpak" household since SWMBO experienced it's delights while inflight on QF ... :p

I don't think the likes of today tonight or ACA have gotten ahold of the story yet

It'll be on that guy's aviation blog within days & he'll ask QF for a comment & then have a sookylala when he doesn't get one. :p

This thread has gotten me a hankering for AFF members to stop wasting valuable time and resources on the most incosequential matter I have seen in an eternity - AND RATHER - get back to some important matters such as new / better ways to get me more regular pointy end travel via FF pts harvesting where I can to enjoy / detest Lurpak / Western Star or whatever butter any airline cares to dish up.

Well, OK. Glad to hear that.

So where exactly does the wretched 'Café breakfast' fit into that strategy and 'customer’s increasingly sophisticated palates and expectations'? A warm ham and cheese croissant on a plastic tray in J, or, more recently, a toasted tomato and cheese sandwich and a citrus fruit salad?
