Butter matters [Danish Lurpak on board]

Paris creek products might only be available in SA but they are available in every grocery chain here plus gourmet shops.

Not sure putting butter pats on a toaster is a good idea. But I've been known to sit on those cold pats just to make them spreadable.

So I've read this tread thoroughly and I have not quite grasped how Australian butter helps me to fatten my QFF point earning, grease my redemptions or shorten my odds of an op-up. That info is spread pretty thin here.

Really? When I lived in the UK, between 2007 and 2010 NZ butter, specially Anchor was for sale*. The UK clearly being a EU member state. So when did this 'ban' to use your words start?

I do note that Anchor is, since 2012 UK made, but for commercial reasons, not a ban on import.

I seem to remember that when Britain joined the EU in 1973, they negotiated a special arrangement for the continued importation of NZ butter, as it ( Anchor) was a "traditional food source".
The "meddling bureaucrats" in Brussels also tried to change the contents of the British sausage ( not high enough meat content) and chocolate ( not enough cocoa).

I'm a big fan of butter but don't like it when it's too cold and hard to spread. Good tip for the next lounge visit - place the butter sachet on the top of the toaster well before you bung the bread in......beautiful!

Remember - butter makes it better;)

and when on an aircraft...place your butter sachet on/under/between!! any warm surface ...(yes..let your imaginations run wild) lol

I am staying at the Grand Casino Hotel in Vanuatu and they are serving Australian Western Star butter in their restaurant.

No, but I feel like I shouldn't.

:)

I believe Marlon Brando didn't use butter from the last flight I was on. I suspect he had planned ahead and taken it out of the fridge earlier in the day. :p

Yes but was it French butter or did the film crew bring US butter to save money?

For those that have nothing butter to do, here is a three minute video on how Qantas gets its First Class butter. Made right here in Australia. You butter believe it!!!

I hope this satisfies Melburnian1.

Hopefully we can now turn our attention to next week's inconsequential delay to QF9, safe in the knowledge that when the passengers in First get their meals, they will be consuming 100% hand made Australian butter.

While sitting in their European-made aircraft.
Eating foreign cuisine inspired foods.
Watching movies from Hollywood.

NM reporting on-the-spot that QF J lounge at BNE International has Western Star butter.

Thinks back to the "What bubbles are they serving in the lounge" thread ... where are we going now?

Speaking of patriotism, I couldn't help noticing that PM Abbott rides a Hillbrick bicycle, which I believe is an Australian manufacturer. Now despite being a cycling-nut, I know little about the brand myself (I tend to favour Specialized). My point is this: does Abbott feel compelled to ride an Aussie-made bike instead of an Orbea, Scott, Cannondale et al? Rather narrows your choices somewhat (maybe even narrows your mind a bit?). BTW, I didn't vote for anyone in his party.

Imagine if it was French Butter Tony??

At least you can spot French Butter. It's the one waiving a white flag, very emotional, and smell of garlic and onions!*^

*Nothing like a return to 1970's attempted humour where entire nations are stereotyped in a single sentence.
^Brought to you by the bring back Terry and June, Are You Being Served, and Up Pompeii campaign.#
#OK some of you teenagers will need Google and wikipedia** for some of those
**Perhaps even imdb
