Just booked in Y+ to fly out to Singapore from Sydney later this month. The only return flight from Singapore to Sydney was via brisbane. My Brisbane to Sydney leg is on a 747, I'm guessing the one that stops in BNE on the way back from Dallas Fort Worth and does actually have Premium Economy, however I'm automatically assigned to regular Y anyway?

Thought that you would lose the PE for an internal flight after the main international one lands in BNE but if the plane actually has PE, then should you get a PE seat as part of the ticket?

Have requested an upgrade to Business for 5,000 points anyway but you did need to request an upgrade to PE for 2,000 from Y.

As you are WP I would call the Premium Hotline Desk and ask if they could ensure you are rebooked into PE on the BNE/SYD sector which must be QF8 that operates DFW/BNE/SYD if it's a 744.

Did it have one of those infamous exclamation marks where it says the flight between BNE and SYD will be in Y? On a normal booking (or at least one I made anyway), I was booked into Y+ on both legs. If I have to take a guess, it's perhaps there was no availability in the specific Y+ booking class on QF8, so it offered you a seat in normal Y instead.

I have a booking to Hong Kong in Y+ from Brisbane via Sydney and the BNE SYD leg is on QF 8 in Y+.

well my upgrade to business on the bne - syd leg is already approved for 5k points when the flight is still 2-3 weeks out so can't complain too much now

As a matter of interest I have one of these bookings next month and I am in premium economy on QF52 and QF8.

the latest round of fare sales explicitly state that domestic connections will be seated in the economy cabin.

i suppose the system isn't designed to distinguish between international domestic connections with a Y+ cabin and those without? (default to economy)

Well that is mystery solved then, I'm on a sale ticket, have my seat locked in as 1K on the bne - syd leg now so will be good to check out that seat

Oh.

I am in premium economy on QF52 and QF8 inbound but in economy on the domestic flight outbound and premium economy on QF51 outbound.
