I am interested :)

I have a function on the 13th, which means that I may be a bit worse for wear on Saturday early morning, but could probably get myself up to SYD for this, so long as the start isn't too early.

The current VA business promotion could be helpful for fares down to SYD at least, $329 OOL - SYD in J could be a nice way to start the weekend :)

Any ideas in timings out of CBR on the Sunday?

You'd have to stay a night, but if this is confirmed I'd love a spot and to book before the J sale (which has spread to QF now) expires. OOL-SYD in Y and CBR-SYD-OOL in J would be a nice Christmas.

It will be a one way trip on the train, so will need to make your own arrangements for the next day.

The Diplomat Hotel is closest (walking distance) to the railway station and about 5km's to the airport.

Sounds good, only one flight with VA that gets to SYD from OOL prior to 10

Anyone else apart from Sam heading from OOL?

Just something to keep in mind;
There are currently only 3 trains a day between SYD and CBR (and only 2 on Saturdays), with a few extras between Sydney and Goulburn. But if you wanted to stop off in Tarago or Bungendore, you would have to wait a long time for the next train!

That being said, I think Countrylink is releasing a new timetable in October. :p

I'm very interested. Was planning on booking a cheap SYD ticket the next sale on that date anyway, and dying to get back into the CBR lounge. Count me in.

That somehow there is going to be a way (train of otherwise) to get to and from the destinations, despite the lack of current timetable?
