Is there no limit to the amount of times you can share between the same parties during the promo month of October eg A >B>A>B?

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Hey everyone, a friend of mine only told me about this promo yesterday- had never thought of US Airways at all until now. I'm still a bit suspicious of the whole thing as it sounds too good to be true. I've seen an entire thread here about "successful" redemptions which makes me wonder how hard it actually is. We want to travel to either the US or Europe next Northern summer but are pretty flexible. Will that be an easy one or an absolute drama, can anyone tell me please?

Read this thread - http://www.australianfrequentflyer....rograms/us-dividend-miles-buy-gift-21844.html

and the first sticky of the Flyertalk thread like the rest of us did.

You cant learn this deal overnight.

Okay, the link to a 100+ page thread is an answer in itself I think. Fingers off for me, needs way too much time investment.

Sorry we couldn't hand everything to you on a silver (ney, gold) platter, and thanks for leaving more flight redemptions for those of us who invest the time & effort.

Ozbeachbabe, as flashware says, you can keep swapping 50k lots if you want between two accounts but it will only be the first 50k share to an account that will attract a 100% bonus, after that you will just be moving points around and paying for the priviledge...

As long as you are flexible with dates + routings and keep the routes very simple, then you can easily do it without any reading.

I have friends who I told them is a matter of buying points, calling US and booking. And that's what they really did. They kept it very simple - did not read anything, did not ask me anything either, no fancy 10 sector routings to maximise the different planes - and just a simple get to the destination and back and its booked.

We dont wish to be rude to new members to this forum and yes, if you dont really care when or who you fly to common destinations it can be straight forward. But when the 'why can't I fly SQ A380', 'I want 2 stopovers' and 'do they have flat-beds' questions roll in that this becomes very, very complicated very quickly.

There are lots of little rules with this that, as I said, cannot be learnt overnight.

Thanks for that answer, this was really all I wanted to know!

Point taken. I agree but some people just want to get to XYZ as quick as they can with whoever they can. That may be Berlin's case, just like it was my friends cases. My friends just wanted to get to anywhere in Europe ... it didn't matter where in Europe or who with because once they got there (and importantly having the long legs out of the way) they were happy to buy/make their own way. However I also agree with what you say that once you want specific flights, specific stopover, long layovers in each transit city, specific routes, specific carriers and plane types .... then yes, then you better read every single page and more of these threads.

I just wanted to make sure that I'm not wasting money on these points and then in the end can't use them at all for our holiday next year. If I end up with some spare time (yes, I wish!) in the meantime, I will happily do my own reading. Hey- I'd probably even enjoy it if I had the time!

I think the successful booking thread is proof of the amount of things you can do with these miles... If looking at that doesn't fire your imagination as to the possibilities that are cheap as chips I don't know what will??? The biggest issue will be how many people maybe travelling (are you just a couple or more) and whether you will be able to find enough spare award seats on the same flights if its more than 2... There are some restrictions on getting F as well, but if just after J and for two, there are a lot of options out there...

In that light though, if going to Europe then TG F is a great option and always seems to have a lot of availability.

All legitimate accounts I hope!

But of course. A is me, B is wife, C is son and D is daughter. While I co-ordinate everything we each pay for our own award tickets out of our own DM account balances. So far have traveled twice using this deal with a third trip booked for next year.

Yep, just two and J will be perfectly fine for us. Thanks a lot- I will give it a go and will report my success (hopefully) on here

I know that accounts less than 12 days old cannot share, but how do you know when the 12 days has passed? Will you get some sort of notification or do you have to try and count? Is it 12 full days?

Re the 72 hour share time thing - I was worried about that too but I did a share on Sunday around 3pm and the share was completed at midnight last night, so less than 36 hours! This was done on a 28 degrees mastercard - no idea if that has anything to do with the time it took. Maybe because USDM issues its own Mastercard, all Mastercard transactions are quicker?!?

I successfully shared from an 8 day account to an 8 day account overnight and received the bonus. Again, the transfer was done around 3pm on the 16th and posted around midnight last night - took almost exactly the same amount of time as the previous share - 32 hours. If each share is this quick I'll easily complete all my shares to get 2 accounts from 0 - 100 by only buying 5k miles by the end of the month.

Would highly recommend sharing at 3pm our time to see if it clears at midnight the next night.

How are you getting two accounts to 100k? By the A,B,C,D four accounts method? Are you concerned in light of Shaynees problem for potential cancellation of miles/accounts by sort of cheating the system? I am wondering this.

Also, would it be easy grounds for US to cancel <12 day old accounts and their miles if they were involved in transferring in and out miles... its pretty clear in T&C this is not permitted

The formula was given by another user a few pages back.

Im slightly concerned but we're not talking about huge amounts of money or points (for me). The accounts are me and 3 family members. The share offer encourages sharing between family and friends.

When booking, each person will have their own points in their own account and book and pay for their own flights. No booking for friends from my account.

I'm surprised you've been able to do a transfer, purchase of miles doesn't even work in the first 12 days so don't know how you got the miles in the first place?
