If someone ever needs a definition of "desperate", point them here. :D

A question for those who have done the Townsville to Darwin SC run (I assume you return on the same aircraft you just arrived on): do you ever get questioned on why you apparently flew all the way to Darwin just to get on the same plane and fly back again?

Did JASA CNS/TSV/BNE/DRW ret double status points run last year, on re boarding in DRW, chief FA said "you just got off an hour ago" I said "didn't like Darwin!", he later sat next to me to find out the real story. As luck had it was spare seat next to me all the way.

Indeed, you’ll probably have fun trying to explain your rationale to them, and come away with a free bottle of leftover wine at the end of the flight, back in BNE ;)

I shall be flying back through CNS again soon, but wont be there long enough to leave the airport this time :(

Did the SYD-BNE-TSV-BNE-SYD SC run yesterday and YES I was asked on the return TSV-BNE leg by the Snr FA what I was doing (same aircraft with about 30min turn around) - she thought that I was a courier, police officer and when I explained it was a SC run she was disappointed that I was not continuing on the same aircraft with them on the BNE-SYD leg.

Could make a business out of people on this forum on status runs, as couriers.

I did this run last year - similar to others, one of the FAs recognised me on DRW-BNE (was in 1A both ways) and asked what I was doing. Tried to explain what a status credit run was, got a very confused look in return and left it at that. I'm surprised the J cabin crew on the BNE-DRW flights haven't figured it out by now, given how many of us they must run in to!! :)

I would connect via MEL. You also get the F lounges and the A380, but you also get the SYD-MEL return in J, and doing so in the months of April - June would get you an extra 160SC.

Problem is the connections often don't have the cheap redemption, so the JASA or FASA becomes big $$$$.

Yes, there are stupid questions: where do you see how many SCs you will get when making an ASA booking?

It's the standard number of SC's according to what type of ASA you buy (E, PE, J or F) - the only kicker is the (double) multiplier from this promo.

There us nowhere in the actual booking process that gives you the SC's - you need to use the QFF website calculator or any of the www calculators that will do the same thing

Tried doing that for SYD & MEL as I'm BNE based. However, once connections were added all options for low point seats were knocked from the system - points went from 125,000 to 750,000.

For the flight out I have booked BNE-MEL-SYD for $160 & 40,000 earning 200SC.

Haven't booked the flight back yet as I'm still playing with options - I've been seduced by the whole SC thing & want to clock up the last 280SC that are required to achieve WP from the one trip/three days:cool:

By the end of the first week of May I will have secured WP till March 2014.

This will allow me to start giving VA a go & maintaining the matched WP I got last year.

Indeed, those are all good reasons. I'm hunting for around 1000 SC total, so unfortunately domestic JASA earn better. FASA next year, I hope.
